The price of SJC gold bars and gold rings fluctuated unexpectedly at the end of April 15.

At the end of April 15, the price of SJC gold bars was suddenly adjusted by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI businesses to 105.5 million VND/tael for buying and 108 million VND/tael for selling - an increase of 500,000 VND compared to the morning.

This is the highest price of gold bars ever. The buying and selling price range is maintained at a high level, around 2.5 million VND/tael.

Meanwhile, the prices of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold of all kinds were listed by businesses at around 103 million VND/tael for buying and 106 million VND/tael for selling - an increase of 1 million VND compared to the morning. This is also the highest price of gold rings ever.

Domestic gold prices had a surprising development when they increased sharply at the end of the day. The price of gold rings even increased faster than SJC gold bars.

This strange fluctuation in domestic gold prices comes in the context of world gold prices remaining at the peak around 3,225 USD/ounce, unchanged from the morning.

The world gold price continues to be an attractive investment channel with a series of consecutive increases over the past months and is at an all-time high. The US-China trade tension has encouraged many investors to pour capital into gold. The USD has remained at a low level for many years, also supporting the gold price to rise.

Commenting on the sharp increase in the price of SJC gold bars and gold rings, expert Tran Duy Phuong analyzed that people's demand for gold increased on April 15, despite the sharp increase in gold prices. Many people bought with the expectation that the price could continue to increase, as some forecasts said that the price of SJC gold bars could reach 110 million VND or the world price could reach 3,300 USD/ounce.

"Gold prices have increased too much recently. If the market has new information related to tariff negotiations, gold prices may reverse and decrease," Mr. Phuong commented.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 101.1 million VND/tael.
