The retail price of DOJI gold bars is currently listed at VND96.7 million/tael (buy) and VND98.4 million/tael (sell), an increase of VND800,000/tael for buying and VND500,000/tael for selling, compared to the close of the previous trading session.

Bao Tin Minh Chau gold price is currently buying at 96.8 million VND/tael and selling at 98.4 million VND/tael, an increase of 800,000 VND/tael for buying and 500,000 VND/tael for selling, compared to the previous session.

At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the buying price of SJC gold is 97.2 million VND/tael and the selling price is 98.4 million VND/tael. Thus, compared to the previous session, the gold price decreased by 200,000 VND/tael in the buying direction and remained the same in the selling direction.

World gold price today March 27, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4am today, Vietnam time, was 3,016.04 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 0.17% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,832 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 94 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 3.6 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices edged lower as the dollar and US government bond yields rose, although concerns about new tariffs from the Trump administration kept prices above $3,000 an ounce.

Spot gold fell 0.1% to $3,015.50 an ounce at 11:08 a.m. ET (15:08 GMT). U.S. gold futures also fell 0.1% to $3,022.10. The dollar index (.DXY) rose 0.1% against a basket of currencies, making gold more expensive for holders of other currencies. Meanwhile, the yield on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury note also edged up.

“Gold remains supported by safe-haven demand amid tariff uncertainty and geopolitical risks. A new record high would put gold at my next target of $3,150,” said Peter Grant, vice president and senior metals strategist at Zaner Metals.

US President Donald Trump said tariffs on cars would be imposed soon, but he also suggested that not all of the threatened tariffs would take effect on April 2 and that some countries could be exempted.

“If the tariffs are not as severe as people think, we could see gold prices correct lower,” said Marex analyst Edward Meir. Investors worried that Trump’s tariffs could fuel inflation and slow economic growth are turning to gold as a safe-haven asset.

Gold, seen as a hedge against uncertainty and inflation, has gained more than 15% this year and hit an all-time high of $3,057.21 on March 20.

Investors now await US personal consumption expenditure (PCE) data on Friday, which could provide further clues on the likelihood of a rate cut.

“The low PCE index will reinforce the Fed's dovish stance and continue to support gold prices,” Grant said.

The US Federal Reserve (Fed) kept its policy interest rate unchanged last week but left open the possibility of a rate cut this year. Precious metals such as gold, which do not yield, tend to benefit in a low-interest-rate environment.

Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari said that while the Fed has made progress in curbing inflation, it will still take time to get inflation back to its 2% target.

In other precious metals, spot silver fell 0.2% to $33.69 an ounce, while platinum was flat at $976.70. Palladium rose 2% to $971.50.
