The price of SJC gold bars is 3.9 million VND/tael higher than the world price. Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC buys SJC gold bars at 95.9 million VND, sells at 97.9 million VND. The price of 4-number 9 gold rings is 95.8 million VND, sells at 97.8 million VND. The difference between buying and selling gold is 2 million VND/tael.

The world gold price increased slightly by 1 USD, to 3,021 USD/ounce. During the US trading session (night of March 25), the world gold price reached 3,034 USD/ounce. The gold price in recent days has been trading in a narrow range from 3,012 - 3,035 USD/ounce as investors continue to choose gold as a safe haven against the disruptive trade and foreign policies of the US.

Gold prices also rose after the US reported that new home sales rose 1.8% last month, better than the expected 0.5% increase. New home sales came in at a seasonally adjusted 676,000 in February. The numbers were in line with forecasts, as the consensus was expecting sales to come in at 680,000 last month. January home sales were also revised up to 664,000 from 657,000. On an annual basis, new home sales rose 5.1% from the February 2024 estimate of 643,000.

Looking at home prices, the median sale price of new homes last month was $414,500 and the median sale price was $487,100. As of the end of February, inventory of homes for sale was 500,000, representing 8.9 months of supply at the current sales rate. Economists continue to pay close attention to the U.S. housing market as it is a major contributor to economic activity. The housing sector has struggled after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates aggressively at the fastest pace in 40 years. Rising mortgage rates and a lack of supply have pushed up home prices , making it difficult for many potential new home buyers to buy.
