The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the USD announced by the State Bank on October 31 is 24,243 VND/USD, down 3 VND compared to yesterday's listed rate.

Applying a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade today at a ceiling rate of VND25,455/USD and a floor rate of VND23,031/USD.

The reference USD buying and selling exchange rate is still kept by the State Bank of Vietnam at 23,400-25,450 VND/USD.

The buying price of USD at commercial banks today continued to decrease, but the selling price was still maintained at the maximum allowed level.

The selling price of the greenback at all banks today decreased by 3 VND compared to the listed price yesterday (October 30) and was listed at the ceiling price of 25,455 VND/USD.

Meanwhile, the USD buying price at banks was adjusted to decrease more strongly, with a decrease of 10-60 VND.

Specifically, at the beginning of today's trading session, Vietcombank bought cash with USD at the price of 25,085 VND/USD, down 43 VND compared to the listed price early this morning (October 30).

Compared to yesterday's opening price, BIDV also lowered the USD price by 31 VND in the buying direction, bringing the USD buying price down to 25,127 VND/USD. VietinBank listed the USD buying price at 25,113 VND/USD early this morning, down 22 VND.

In the private banking sector, Sacombank lowered the USD buying price to 25,130 VND/USD, down 20 VND. Techcombank lowered the USD buying price to 25,097 VND/USD, 60 VND cheaper than early this morning.

Similarly, Eximbank also lowered the USD price by 10 VND at the buying price, down to 25,090 VND/USD.

In the free market, the USD price continued to fall, after decreasing by 40 VND in both buying and selling prices in the previous session.

Foreign exchange points in the free market this morning traded USD at a common price of 25,660-25,760 VND/USD (buy - sell). Compared to the previous session, the free USD price decreased by 10 VND for buying and 20 VND for selling.

In the world market, the USD price tends to increase. The US Dollar Index (measuring the fluctuations of the greenback against 6 major currencies) at 10:00 on October 31 (Vietnam time) was at 104.19 points, up 0.18% compared to the previous session.
