The reason for the sharp increase in unemployment in recent years is due to the low basic salary and benefits for medical staff and doctors, not commensurate with the effort put in.
Meanwhile, private hospitals have many attractive policies regarding salaries, benefits, etc.
In addition, during the 2 years affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the work pressure in the medical industry was great but the revenue was not enough to cover expenses when the hospital operated under a financial autonomy mechanism.
Due to the epidemic, the hospital bed occupancy rate has dropped to 72%, and health insurance examination and treatment expenses exceeding several billion VND have not yet been paid.

The resignation of some highly qualified doctors has significantly affected the operation of the hospital. Many young, well-trained and skilled doctors have also moved to other units with attractive salaries.
To ensure good human resources for medical examination and treatment, the provincial hospital has screened and arranged suitable job positions. At the same time, it has recommended that superiors continue to add more staff to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment.

Previously, Dan Tri newspaper reported that in 2021, the health sector of Gia Lai province recorded 110 cases of doctors and medical staff resigning, of which 38 people resigned (18 doctors), and 11 people (10 doctors) were disciplined and forced to resign.
In the first six months of 2022, 23 more medical staff resigned. Of these, 6 were doctors, 14 civil servants quit, and 2 were disciplined and forced to quit.
Gia Lai Department of Health proposed that the Provincial People's Committee provide additional funding to compensate for the shortage of salaries, allowances and other payments according to salaries in 2022 to reduce difficulties for units.
