World oil prices today
World oil prices fell across the board in today's trading session, August 16 (Vietnam time). WTI crude oil was at $77.97/barrel, down $0.19/barrel, or 0.24%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $78.16/barrel and opened today's session at $78.04/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $80.92 a barrel, down $0.12 a barrel, or 0.15 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $81.04 a barrel and opened today at $80.88 a barrel.
World oil prices fell across the board compared to the opening price, but still showed an upward trend compared to yesterday morning's price. According to experts, the escalating geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East and Russia-Ukraine are also pushing oil prices to fluctuate continuously.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On August 16, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 15. Accordingly, the price of fuel oil increased the most, 217 VND/kg. Diesel oil increased the least, 89 VND/liter. The two gasoline products E5 RON 92 and RON 95-III increased by 167 VND/liter and 179 VND/liter, respectively. Kerosene also increased by 161 VND/liter.
Gasoline discount today
Discount prices of petroleum products today, August 16, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on August 16: Oil discount 1,450 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,350 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on August 16 as follows: Oil discount: 1,400 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on August 16: Gasoline 95-III: 1,100; gasoline E5: 900; oil: 1,350 VND/liter.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. It is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices may have opposite adjustments.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 15 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 16 times.
