Bac Giang has the highest GRDP growth in the country in the first quarter

On April 11, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held a press conference to inform about the results of the province's socio-economic development tasks in the first quarter; key tasks and solutions in the coming time.

According to Mr. Mai Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in the first quarter, economic growth was estimated at about 13.82%, exceeding the province's forecast scenario (the forecast scenario was 13%), the highest in the country.

Van Trung Industrial Park was established in 2008 by Fugiang Co., Ltd., a member of Hong Hai Science and Technology Group (Taiwan, China).

In particular, all manufacturing sectors have grown. Of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery is estimated to increase by 1.05%, industry - construction is estimated to increase by 17.24%, services are estimated to increase by 5.79%, product tax minus product subsidy is estimated to increase by 8.54%.

Bac Giang province's industrial production achieved good results despite facing many challenges. The production index (IIP) in the first quarter increased by 26.58% over the same period, the estimated production index in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 63.82% over the same period last year. The production value in the first quarter reached 183,146 billion VND, up 25.83% over the same period.

Import-export activities in the first 3 months are estimated at 16.6 billion USD, up 61.1% over the same period. Outstanding credit reached 116,600 billion VND, up 3.1%.

In addition, total domestic revenue in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated at VND 6,705 billion, equivalent to 42.5% of the estimate, up 36.3% over the same period in 2024. Import-export tax revenue is estimated at VND 529.1 billion, equivalent to 22.5% of the annual estimate and equal to 130.3% over the same period.

By March 31, the entire Bac Giang province had attracted about 680.6 million USD in converted investment capital, up 9.0% over the same period; in particular, 11 new domestic projects were granted with registered capital of 13,630 billion VND (1.8 times higher than the same period). During the quarter, 424 new enterprises were established, up 36%; registered capital reached 2,487 billion VND.

Also at the press conference, the leader of the Department of Home Affairs of Bac Giang province said that the plan to arrange provincial-level administrative units, Bac Giang province was assigned to preside over the arrangement with Bac Ninh province.

Recently, the Department of Home Affairs of Bac Giang has consulted the Provincial Party Committee, established a Steering Committee, and developed a plan with specific timelines. On April 20, it will collect voters' opinions and submit documents to the Ministry of Home Affairs on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units before May 1.

To implement this plan, the Department of Home Affairs of Bac Giang province has proactively worked with the locality, the provincial police, and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review officials and civil servants at the commune and district levels, review natural areas, population, etc.

In addition, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces have held meetings on the implementation plan, established 6 special working groups on project arrangement; 2 Departments of Home Affairs have framed the project, outline, necessary data and are completing it.

After the arrangement, the Provincial People's Committee has 13 affiliated professional agencies, a reduction of 6 agencies; 107 affiliated professional departments, branches and equivalents, a reduction of 26 affiliated professional departments and equivalents; and 9 economic and other public service units under the Department.

The new system officially came into operation on March 1.
