According to experts, the price of Arabica coffee in the global market has reached a record high. The main reason is that farmers in Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer, are still hesitant to sell their products. They are worried about the uncertainties related to the upcoming crop and expect coffee prices to continue to rise.
Brazil’s coffee futures sales for the 2025-26 crop are currently running behind the annual average. Only 12% of production has been sold so far, compared with 19% at the same time last year. The long-term average for the period is 21%, reflecting farmers’ caution amid market volatility.
Brazil produces nearly half of the world's arabica coffee beans, the premium variety often used in roasted blends. Last year, the country suffered one of its worst droughts on record, severely affecting production.
At the same time, the falling USD index also contributed to the continued increase in Arabica coffee prices. Conversely, the rapid increase in inventories on the London floor caused Robusta coffee prices to fall.
In Vietnam, many localities have finished this year's harvest. Coffee growers and businesses are now focusing on the first watering and fertilizing to prepare for the flowering and fruiting stages. This is a very important watering period, determining the productivity of coffee trees in the following year's crop.
