The price of fish fry has increased due to the high demand for fish fry for farming, while the supply is somewhat limited. Mr. Le Hoai - owner of a fish fry business in Thanh Hung commune, Giong Rieng district (Kien Giang) said: "The hot and unfavorable weather has caused a high loss rate in the rearing of fish fry. For more than a month now, many people have asked to buy fish fry, but the supply is very low, so it is not enough to meet the demand."

In addition, the price of some types of fish fry has increased due to the high price of commercial fish. Ms. Mai Thi Truc Linh - owner of Tuan Linh fish fry farm, Cong Tre hamlet, Kien Binh commune (Kien Luong) said that since the beginning of 2025, the output of fish fry consumed at the farm has reached 80 million fish fry, double that of the same period in 2024. In addition to customers from Ca Mau and Can Tho city, this year, fish fry farms in Cambodia have consumed a large number of fish fry.
