Rice is Vietnam's largest export item to the Indonesian market.

In the first 6 months of 2024, rice was the largest export item to the Indonesian market with 444 million USD, an increase of 82% over the same period last year.

According to data from According to the General Department of Customs, in the first 6 months of 2024, Vietnam had 11 export items to Indonesia reaching over 100 million USD with a total turnover of 2.21 billion USD, accounting for 76% of the export value to this Southeast Asian country.

Rice is the largest export item to this market with 444 million USD, up 82% over the same period last year. In the first half of 2024, Vietnam exported 712,438 tons of rice to Indonesia with an average price of 623.7 USD/ton. Except for January and June, the volume rice export to Indonesia both reached over 100,000 tons.

Phones and components are the second largest export item to Indonesia with 206 million USD, up 14% over the same period last year. In the electronics group, export items reaching over 100 million USD also include machinery, equipment, tools, and other spare parts with 201 million USD, up 11% over the same period last year; computers, electronic products and components with 128 million USD, up 8% over the same period last year.

Vietnam exported textiles and garments to Indonesia for 202 million USD, up 6.9% over the same period last year; textile and garment materials and accessories for 175 million USD, up 20% over the same period last year.

In the raw material group, Vietnam exported iron and steel to this Southeast Asian country with a turnover of 203 million USD, down 4% compared to the same period last year; exported chemicals with 139 million USD, up 147% compared to the same period last year, this is also the only item with a growth rate of over 3 digits.

In addition, Vietnam also exported raw plastic materials to Indonesia with 188 million USD, up 32% over the same period last year; means of transport and spare parts reached 168 million USD, down 18% over the same period last year.

In the agricultural and aquatic products group, Vietnam coffee export reached 160 million USD, up 95% over the same period last year. Rice and coffee are currently the two main items in this group exported to Indonesia.

In addition, Vietnam also exported seafood to this country with 7.6 million USD, down 21% compared to the same period last year; vegetables and fruits with 3.7 million USD, down 9.7% compared to the same period last year; tea with 5 million USD, up 85% compared to the same period last year...

Of the 31 main export items to Indonesia, 11 items from Vietnam exported to this country decreased in value and 20 items increased in value compared to the same period last year.
