(QNO) - Tonight, July 24, at the Provincial Sports and Physical Training Center, the 2023 National Youth, Teenager and Children's Table Tennis Championship will open. The tournament is organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam.
Participating in this tournament are nearly 900 athletes from 34 provinces, cities and sectors with strong table tennis movements nationwide competing for 56 sets of medals in the following categories: men's and women's youth team; men's and women's youth team; men's and women's youth team; men's and women's youth team; men's and women's youth team; men's and women's youth team; men's and women's youth team; men's and women's doubles; men's and women's doubles.
This is an annual tournament for teenagers and children across the country to practice, compete, train their bodies, and improve their health every summer. Through this tournament, we aim to create conditions for children to practice their skills, improve their abilities, gain experience, and develop their talents.
In particular, this is a general examination of the professional qualifications of young table tennis athletes nationwide to discover and select outstanding athletes to nurture, train and supplement the national table tennis teams in the coming time. At the same time, continue to expand and promote the movement of practicing table tennis among the entire population, especially among teenagers and children.
According to Mr. Tao Viet Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the tournament organizing committee, Quang Nam hosted this tournament to convey the message of stimulating tourism and promoting sports activities in the province with the desire to create cohesion, healthy sports competition to promote the development of the sports movement in general and the development of table tennis in the whole province in particular.
Through this tournament, we continue to introduce to the participating delegations the revolutionary tradition, cultural history, development potential and socio-economic achievements of the locality.
