Nearly 200 works participated in the 3rd Southeast Region Press Award

The 2nd Southeast Region Press Awards Ceremony - 2024.

Participants of the Award include journalists, members of the Journalists Association, reporters working at press agencies in provinces and cities in the region such as: Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Thuan, whose works fully meet the Award's rules.

This year, the Organizing Committee received nearly 200 entries in 4 journalism categories. After the Preliminary Round, 80 of the best entries were selected for the Final Round, of which the Jury decided to award 22 prizes, including: 2 First Prizes, 4 Second Prizes, 6 Third Prizes and 10 Encouragement Prizes.

According to the Jury, many of the award-winning works have high discovery, rich sources of information and unique perspectives, contributing to creating healthy competition among authors, while raising professional standards of regional journalism. In addition to common socio-economic topics, many works focus on exploiting everyday stories rich in humanity or less-noticed issues such as preserving ethnic minority culture, sustainable development and the environment.

Regarding the radio genre, although the number of participating works is not large, the works still closely follow "hot" current issues that are of public interest, such as Party building, streamlining the apparatus, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, digital transformation and other social issues.

Many works are carefully invested in content and form, applying modern broadcasting style, distributed on multiple platforms, ensuring authenticity and objectivity. Some outstanding works have recorded and vividly reflected advanced models, contributing to spreading good examples in the community.

In terms of television, the number of entries this year has decreased compared to last season, but the quality has improved, with diverse topics, close to reality and bringing many new perspectives. Some works demonstrate innovation in production thinking, meeting the requirements of modern television. However, the short reportage genre - which has great appeal to audiences - has not received adequate investment. Many works still have shortcomings such as conventional presentation, uncreative language, or inappropriate voice.

On March 28, 2025, at the Conference Center Hall of the Political School, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Binh Phuoc Provincial Journalists Association co-organized the 3rd Southeast Region Press Awards Ceremony.

It is known that Tay Ninh has 2 works that won high prizes out of 22 works: Sending trust in the "endoscopy" in the Party by Dong Viet Thang - Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy (Tay Ninh Newspaper); series of reports: Keeping the green color on the outpost islands by Ho Sy Cong - Nguyen The Truong Giang (Tay Ninh Provincial Radio and Television Station).
