According to AppleInsider , in order to cope with production disruptions due to China's strict Covid-19 policies in 2022, the Foxconn factory is now facing a significant demand for workers. A recruiter surnamed Zhao said that Foxconn's local recruitment agencies in Zhengzhou are actively creating a pool of highly skilled workers to meet the requirements for the upcoming peak season.

Responsible for recruitment, Zhao is hiring permanent and temporary workers for around $3 an hour.
Foxconn’s Zhengzhou-based Product Enclosure Business Group recently posted a job posting offering a $1,105 bonus to former workers who rejoin the assembly line during peak season. This particular unit is responsible for manufacturing mechanical components for iPhones. New hires at Foxconn’s plant in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen will also receive a bonus of up to $980.
In addition, Foxconn is now actively encouraging existing workers to refer new workers to the factory, offering a $138 bonus for each successful referral, according to the South China Morning Post . Furthermore, the company is extending a one-time $975 bonus to workers who are referred and join during peak season, as long as they stay with the company for at least four months.
Foxconn is also reportedly actively pursuing the expansion of its manufacturing operations in various countries, including India and Vietnam. The company recently signed a lease with Vietnam’s Saigon-Bac Giang Industrial Park Company for a plot of land for approximately $62.5 million, with a lease term extending to February 2057.
Additionally, the Karnataka state government in India said a Foxconn factory in the state will start production in April 2024.
