(NLĐO) - Hundreds of experts, engineers, and workers have volunteered to stay away from their families during the Tet holiday to "keep the flame alive" at the Dung Quat Oil Refinery.

On the morning of January 29th (the first day of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Snake), the leadership of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company ( BSR ) directly inspected the production and business operations, encouraged and extended New Year greetings to the workers on duty at the Dung Quat Refinery during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.

Reporting quickly to the BSR leadership, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Nghia – Shift Leader of Dung Quat Refinery (the first shift of the Lunar New Year of the Snake), stated that to ensure the smooth operation of Dung Quat Refinery and meet the requirement of operating at over 100% capacity during the 2025 Lunar New Year, hundreds of experts, engineers, and workers are working in shifts continuously, celebrating the New Year at the refinery site. Among them, hundreds of workers from provinces such as Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Hanoi , etc., have volunteered to stay for many years.

According to plan, in the early days of the Year of the Snake, Dung Quat Refinery imported two shipments of crude oil and sold products as usual to meet customer demand. Currently, the main processing units of the refinery are operating at optimal capacity. In addition, BSR is also focusing on and ensuring staffing plans for production operations throughout the Tet holiday. BSR employees are demonstrating high responsibility, being on standby for production, ready to respond to emergencies, and ensuring safe and continuous production.

BSR has also strengthened coordination with relevant authorities, improving inspection and supervision in all areas, inside and outside the plant, as well as at sea. Control at the plant's entrances and exits is also strictly monitored to ensure the plant's security and safety.

At Viet Thanh Bay - the location where crude oil is imported for the Dung Quat Refinery during the Lunar New Year of 2025 - dozens of engineers and workers are also working to transfer crude oil from tankers supplying the Dung Quat Refinery.

Mr. Tran Thanh Hai (from Nghe An province ) said he has worked at the Dung Quat Refinery for over 10 years and has volunteered to stay and celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) at the factory for many years. "During Tet, everyone wants to reunite with their family, but due to the nature of the factory's continuous operation, I have volunteered to stay and celebrate Tet at the factory for many years. Thanks to the factory's timely encouragement and thoughtful Tet preparations; my relatives back home also sent in sticky rice cakes, spring rolls, fruit... so my homesickness is somewhat lessened," Mr. Hai confided.

After inspecting the readiness and work during the Lunar New Year holiday, Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong – Chairman of BSR – extended New Year greetings to all employees, especially those directly involved in production during the holiday. Mr. Duong commended the tireless work ethic of the engineers and workers, who helped BSR fulfill the tasks assigned by the Government and Petrovietnam: ensuring energy security and guaranteeing the supply of petroleum products during the Lunar New Year.

Speaking about the goals for the new year 2025, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang – General Director of BSR, said that 2025 is a very special year, as it is the year of many major events for the country and also the year marking the end of the 5-year plan 2020-2025.
