EVN changes general director

According to information from EVN, on November 30, Mr. Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN, signed a decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan (56 years old), Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNHANOI, to hold the position of General Director of EVN from December 1. According to this decision, the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan as General Director of EVN is for a period of 5 years.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan was appointed as General Director of EVN starting today, December 1.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan has a professional qualification as an electrical engineer, a master's degree in business administration, a bachelor's degree in politics and has more than 30 years of experience in the electricity industry.

Mr. Tuan started working in the electricity industry in August 1990 as a specialist in the Planning Department, then transferred to the Basic Construction Department, Hanoi Electricity Company (now EVNHANOI).

At EVNHANOI, Mr. Tuan has held many leadership positions at the department and division levels. Starting from July 2008, Mr. Tuan was appointed as Deputy Director of Hanoi Electricity Company. In November 2013, Mr. Tuan continued to be appointed as Chairman and General Director of EVN. From October 2019 to present, Mr. Tuan has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNHANOI.

Decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan as General Director of EVN to replace Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhan.

Previously, in July, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the conclusion of an inspection on the management and operation of electricity supply by (EVN) when local power shortages occurred in the Northern region, causing public outrage, affecting people's lives, production and business activities, and the investment attraction environment.

In this conclusion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requires EVN to organize a review and clarify the responsibilities of the board of directors, advisory boards, member units, and related individuals and groups.

At the regular October Government press conference held on November 4, a representative of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises said that the review and disciplinary process at EVN related to the inspection conclusion has been basically completed.

Accordingly, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises is coordinating with the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc to direct EVN to issue decisions on disciplining officials and Party members.

Specifically, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises has proposed disciplinary action against former Chairman of the Board of Directors Duong Quang Thanh; Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of EVN Tran Dinh Nhan; Deputy General Director of EVN Ngo Son Hai and the Director and Deputy Director of the National Power System Dispatch Center.

In addition, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises is continuing to direct disciplinary action against other related individuals according to the principles of fairness and objectivity, not omitting any individual or group with violations or shortcomings.
