(NLDO)- EVNCPC commits not to stop or reduce power supply during the Lunar New Year, except for incident handling cases.
On the morning of January 23, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long had a working session with the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) on ensuring electricity supply for the Lunar New Year 2025.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long chaired the meeting.
Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of EVNCPC, presented a detailed report on plans to ensure electricity for more than 4.8 million customers in 13 provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions during the Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, EVNCPC has synchronously deployed many solutions to maintain a safe and continuous power source, such as reviewing the entire power supply plan, strengthening inspection and maintenance of the power grid system to prevent incidents, arranging 24/7 standby forces at all units, and reasonably mobilizing renewable energy sources, especially in areas with high demand. EVNCPC also maintains a timely communication channel between member units and the Central Power System Control Center.
Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of EVNCPC, presented a detailed report on plans to ensure electricity to serve more than 4.8 million customers in the Central and Central Highlands regions during the Lunar New Year.
EVNCPC has applied modern technology to manage the operation of the power grid through the SCADA/DMS system at 13 control centers and 1 monitoring center at the EVNCPC Office. This system is connected to 158 unmanned 110kV transformer stations (100%), 5,464 segment devices (100%), 100 medium-voltage hydropower plants (94%) and 49 power plants connected to the 110kV grid.
In addition, some advanced functions of the distribution grid management system (DMS) have also been put into operation at 13 power companies and 3 digital substations, including Dak Song 110kV substation, Phu Bai 110kV substation and My Khe 110kV substation.
Condition-based maintenance (CBM) has been comprehensively implemented by EVNCPC for key equipment at 110kV substations and medium-voltage distribution grids, helping to improve operational efficiency and ensure reliability in power supply.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ngo Son Hai, Deputy General Director of EVN, highly appreciated EVNCPC's careful preparation and requested the unit to continue to closely monitor customer activities, closely coordinate with investors and related units to mobilize renewable energy sources and small hydropower plants in a reasonable manner. He emphasized that EVNCPC needs to comprehensively review fire prevention and fighting work and ensure safety at power projects during Tet.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long acknowledged and praised the proactiveness, positivity, and creativity of EVN and EVNCPC in planning, arranging human resources, and means to ensure continuous power supply during the Lunar New Year. He emphasized that in addition to serving Tet, EVNCPC needs to ensure uninterrupted preparation work to meet the requirements of power development for the Central region and the whole country. The Deputy Minister assessed the 2025 task as very heavy, requiring the electricity industry to "go one step ahead" to ensure sufficient power supply for economic development as required by the Central Government.
The Deputy Minister also sent New Year wishes of peace and prosperity to all EVNCPC employees and workers, and hoped that the unit would continue to promote its key role in electricity supply, especially in the Central Highlands region.
On behalf of EVNCPC's leadership, Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Thanh thanked the Deputy Minister and EVN's leadership for their attention and direction. He affirmed that the recognition from the leadership is a great motivation for EVNCPC to make further efforts, especially in the context that the Central - Central Highlands region is forecast to have a commercial electricity growth rate of 10-12% in 2025.
Field inspection at the Central Power System Control Center
Also in the morning of the same day, the working group inspected the Central Power System Control Center and the Thuan Phuoc 110kV Transformer Station. Here, the group listened to reports on the operation of the power system, checked the on-duty regime and assessed measures to ensure safe operation of the power grid during Tet.
EVNCPC's expected maximum load capacity during the Lunar New Year 2025 is 3,344 MW, an increase of 11.1% over the same period last year (3,001 MW). During the Lunar New Year (from January 25, 2025, the 26th of the Lunar New Year, to February 2, 2025, the 5th of the Lunar New Year), EVNCPC commits not to stop or reduce power supply, causing power outages for customers, except for incident handling cases.
