Northern Electricity ensures safe and stable power supply during Tet At Ty

In order to ensure safe, stable, continuous and reliable electricity supply to serve the people of the North to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025, the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has deployed a detailed plan with key tasks.

During the Lunar New Year 2025, thousands of shifts in all units of EVNNPC have been assigned, including: enhanced leadership shifts, 24/7 operation and electrical repair shifts, fully prepared materials, equipment, communication systems and means of transport to quickly handle any incidents if any.

It is forecasted that the demand for electricity in provinces and cities will fluctuate during the holidays. EVNNPC's Board of Directors requests that units closely monitor load developments to adjust operations in a timely manner; not to perform work that requires stopping or reducing power supply (except for incident handling) during the Lunar New Year 2025 from 0:00 on January 25, 2025 (December 26) to 24:00 on February 2, 2025 (the 5th day of Tet).

Power companies will also re-establish operating shifts at unmanned transformer stations if necessary; coordinate with agencies and departments to conduct comprehensive inspections of transformer stations, intermediate stations of medium and low voltage lines, to detect abnormalities for immediate handling.

Mr. Vu Anh Phuong - Deputy General Director of EVNNPC - said that the Corporation has had plans and solutions to ensure safe and stable power supply for the Lunar New Year very early, in which priority is given to important loads and backup in areas where cultural activities, spring fairs, fireworks display areas, entertainment areas... take place in 27 northern provinces and cities. At the same time, EVNNPC leaders also requested affiliated units to strengthen inspection, overcome existing problems, and clear trees to ensure safety of power grid corridors.

In addition, EVNNPC recommends that customers and people pay attention to safe electricity use during Tet, implement solutions to use electricity efficiently, as well as raise vigilance against fraudulent tricks and impersonation of the Electricity industry by bad actors to appropriate customers' assets.

Previously, EVNNPC's member power companies focused on ensuring sufficient electricity supply for businesses, production and trading establishments of goods and services serving the production of Tet goods in large industrial zones, as well as important customers approved by the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities. The Corporation directed units to strictly ensure electricity for pumping water for the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop in the Northern Midlands and Delta.

The Northern Power Corporation also coordinated with the National Power System and Market Operation Company and the Northern Power System Dispatch Center to establish and implement a plan to ensure electricity for production and consumption, including plans to ensure power supply, security, and fire prevention and fighting during the 2025 Lunar New Year and major political and cultural events of the year; at the same time, properly operate generators to ensure voltage quality on the power system in conditions with a high penetration rate of renewable energy sources.
