On the afternoon of January 24, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang had a working session with Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) on ensuring electricity supply during the Lunar New Year and the dry season of 2025 for Ho Chi Minh City residents.
EVNHCMC said it will ensure power supply for events and festivals during the Lunar New Year. It will focus on providing power for 15 fireworks display locations in the city, spring flower festival locations such as Tao Dan spring flower festival (District 1), "On the wharf under the boat" spring flower market (District 8)... and other locations of political activities in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, EVNHCMC also ensures that customers will not be cut off from 0:00 on January 25 to 24:00 on February 2 (from December 26 to the 5th day of Tet), except in case of incidents or special requests.
Accordingly, the corporation has coordinated with the People's Committees of districts to inspect and review the power grid to prepare plans to ensure power supply. At the same time, it has established plans to handle risky situations.
At the meeting, Ms. Phan Thi Thang agreed and highly appreciated EVNHCMC's proactiveness in preparing to supply electricity to the city during the 2025 Lunar New Year. According to Ms. Thang, in addition to implementing the plan, EVNHCMC needs to be ready to coordinate with on-site stations in other areas of the city to promptly handle any risks that may arise.

Regarding ensuring electricity supply during the dry season (from March to May), Ms. Thang noted that EVNHCMC needs to prepare early to serve important political events related to the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
In addition, the electricity saving program in Ho Chi Minh City also needs to be maintained, even having alternative solutions towards effective electricity saving.
