'I am a student and cannot afford to take care of a baby'

On January 28, An Khanh Ward Police (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) announced a search for the mother and relatives of a 6-day-old newborn baby abandoned on the side of the road.

Initial information, at around 4:30 am the same day, people were exercising on Tran Nao Street (An Khanh Ward) when they heard the sound of a newborn baby crying.

Upon inspection, people discovered a plastic basket containing a newborn baby, some belongings and a letter with the content: "I am a student and do not have the conditions to take care of the baby. I respectfully ask the teachers to take care of the baby so that the baby can have a better life. The baby was born on January 22, 2024. The baby has been vaccinated against tuberculosis and hepatitis B. Thank you very much!".

Upon receiving the news, An Khanh Ward Police and related units were present, received, checked the baby's health, and confirmed that the baby's health condition was stable.

The baby was found at dawn on January 28.

The police informed that anyone who is the mother, relative or knows information about the child should come to the An Khanh Ward Police Headquarters (19 Luong Dinh Cua, An Khanh Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) to support in providing information.
