When the new road has opened

One day at the end of March, we had the opportunity to travel on the extended N5 route, connecting Hoa Son commune through Minh Son, Bai Son (Do Luong), Minh Thanh, Thinh Thanh (Yen Thanh) and Giang Son (Do Luong) communes to the final point connecting with Ho Chi Minh road at Ky Tan commune, Tan Ky district.

Along the entire length of the route, it can be seen that most of the project has been basically completed, and cars can travel easily. There is only about 3 km left connecting Giang Son commune with Tan Ky district, although the road has been opened, it has not been paved yet, the contractor is still urgently leveling the ground at key points.

The road is widened, making it easier for vehicles to travel. At the same time, people living on both sides of the road have the conditions to build new, spacious houses and are motivated to open up new ways of thinking and doing things about economic development.

In Hamlet 2, Bai Son Commune, Do Luong District, a solidly built house with beautiful and spacious architecture, located right next to N5 Road, surrounded by a garden of fruit trees and ornamental plants that have just taken root and sprouted. That is the house of Mr. Cao Dang Xuan's family.

Talking to Mr. Xuan, it was learned that the State compensated 3,400 m2 of land and assets on the land to clear the ground for road N5. With the compensation of 2 billion VND, the family built a spacious house for about 1.2 billion VND. At the same time, the family renovated the garden land to plant nearly 1,000 peach trees to sell during the Lunar New Year and to do business in ornamental plants.

"Previously, this area was mountainous, the road was only big enough for farm vehicles to transport raw wood, and it was dark at night. Now the main road has been opened, and more and more people and vehicles are passing by. My family has thought of a different way of doing business, not just planting forests like before, but boldly planting and trading ornamental plants to serve the market," said Mr. Cao Dang Xuan.

The N5 route runs through Thinh Thanh commune for more than 5km, many sections passing through endless acacia hills, lush green fields and prosperous residential areas.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thinh Thanh Commune said that although the commune has great potential for economic development, due to the inconvenient transportation system, Thinh Thanh is still one of the most difficult localities in Yen Thanh district. When the N5 road is completed, it will be the most favorable condition for the locality to develop a more stable and sustainable economy, focusing on planting raw material forests and raising livestock. Currently, some households have begun to do business in services, especially increasing the planting of raw material forests.

Tan Ky strives to clear the land

The N5 road extension project intersecting with Ho Chi Minh road in Ky Tan commune has been a long-standing dream of the people of Tan Ky district. Therefore, when the project was implemented, the district made efforts to clear the land urgently. However, by the end of March, the end of the project still had not completed the land clearance.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee said that the reason for the delay in site clearance at the end of the N5 road project is that previously, the District's Compensation and Site Clearance Council did not take into account the intersection with Ho Chi Minh Road. Therefore, after the construction unit cleared the N5 road and started to build the road, there were site clearance problems. Right after the Lunar New Year holiday, the District Compensation and Site Clearance Council reviewed the site clearance problems at 11 households.

Faced with that situation, the district proceeded to prepare documents and build compensation prices to apply to all State mechanisms and policies on site clearance at the highest level. Therefore, at the end of March, households agreed to the district's site clearance compensation plan and in early April, households will receive money and hand over the site to the project.

A representative of the Traffic Construction Project Management Board (Department of Transport) said that by the end of March, the localities where the N5 extension road passes through had completed site clearance for the project, creating conditions for contractors to speed up construction progress. The N5 extension road project from Hoa Son commune, Do Luong district to Tan Ky district has a length of 15 km, according to plan, the project will be completed and put into use by the end of August 2024.

After the completion of the N5 road extension project, it will be of great significance, promoting the socio-economic development of localities, improving the capacity of freight transport, and meeting the travel needs of the people.
