On the morning of January 8, police forces were still tightening control of an area of hundreds of hectares in Luong Hoa commune, Ben Luc district (Long An province), where it is believed that the murder suspect is hiding.
After two days, the police have yet to arrest the suspect. This is an area of hundreds of hectares, obscured by trees and overgrown grass, with no roads inside but many canals. Surrounding this area are also residential areas and roads, although quite narrow.
As soon as it was determined that the suspect was likely to be on the run and hiding in this area, many police officers from Ho Chi Minh City and Long An Police along with the militia surrounded the area, and all entrances and exits were blocked off. However, because the area was very large and covered with dense vegetation, it was very difficult to track him down.
Police have mobilized sniffer dogs and used drones to track down the suspect. At the same time, police have been reinforced in the area to continue controlling and expanding the search for the suspect to neighboring areas.
In addition, the authorities also advise people to be vigilant in preventing and combating crime, especially since the suspect involved in the murder case is very dangerous. When people discover a suspicious person or suspect, they should immediately report it to the police.
As reported, at around 10am on January 6, some residents in Xuan Thoi Son Commune, Hoc Mon District (HCMC) heard people shouting at a kiosk on Highway 22.
At the same time, a young man was seen driving a SH Mode motorbike from the shop at high speed. Suspicious, people nearby came to check and found Ms. NTHP (22 years old), a shop employee, lying injured. People took the victim to the emergency room but due to the severity of her injuries, Ms. P. died. By the time people arrived, the motorbike that was said to belong to the victim was gone.
Authorities determined that the suspect was driving a motorbike from Hoc Mon (HCMC) towards Duc Hoa district, Long An province.
Afterwards, local people also discovered the suspect following Provincial Road 830 from Duc Hoa to Ben Luc town, Ben Luc district (Long An province). In the area near Ca No bridge on Provincial Road 830, passing through Luong Hoa commune, Ben Luc district, the suspect left his motorbike on the side of the road and drove down to a large area of land covered with wild grass and trees to avoid being chased by the authorities.
