At any supermarket or traditional market, “Made in Vietnam” products dominate and are chosen by consumers with high trust. That is partly thanks to the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese products” which has been effectively implemented in recent years.
In order for people to understand Vietnamese products, at the same time, people can express their opinions as well as for businesses to make more efforts to conquer consumers, the voting program "Vietnamese products loved by consumers" has been continuously organized by the Steering Committee of the Hanoi City Movement over the past years.
In 2024, with the perseverance and flexibility in the mobilization and connection work of the Steering Committee of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign in the city, programs to connect trade, promote trade, and support product consumption for businesses and people were implemented in many different forms. The program "Voting for Vietnamese goods loved by consumers" was organized and implemented by departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns, associations and unions from July 2024. The program received registrations from nearly 200 businesses in different fields. In particular, the voting organization was implemented in September and October 2024 in two forms, online and directly via ballots at public places, supermarkets, and large commercial centers such as: Ho Guom walking street, Big C supermarket system, MM Megamarket, Duc Thanh supermarket.
As of October 31, 2024, the Organizing Committee received a total of 535,929 votes, an increase of 5.33% compared to 2023. Of which, online voting reached 304,816 votes for products and services participating in the program, an increase of 5.55% compared to 2023. Direct voting: The Organizing Committee issued 6,000 ballots, the total number of valid ballots collected was 6,000. The total number of votes reached 231,113, an increase of 5.05% compared to 2023.
Chairwoman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Lan Huong said that through the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in 2024, the number of businesses participating in the campaign is increasing. Member organizations have actively encouraged officials, members, and union members to actively participate in using Vietnamese goods. In particular, the program "Voting for Vietnamese goods that are loved by consumers" is one of the important activities of the city in building the culture and consumption habits of Vietnamese people with Vietnamese goods.
2024 is the 14th year that the Steering Committee of the Campaign has organized the voting program, on the basis of inheriting the results of previous years and being adjusted and supplemented in a timely manner in the implementation, voting and scoring regulations to ensure scientific, objective, strict, adequate procedures and compliance with regulations. The voting has contributed to encouraging many businesses and production facilities to research and create many new products and services, achieving the brand of high-quality Vietnamese goods, Vietnamese goods loved by consumers. This is not only an honor for the business community but also a symbol of creativity, the unceasing commitment of businesses in pioneering the affirmation of the position of Vietnamese enterprises in the market. Thereby, contributing to raising the brand of Vietnamese goods, multiplying national pride and the attractiveness of the country, Vietnamese people in general and the Capital in particular.
The Chairman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee emphasized that although this year, the number of businesses participating in the vote and the number of participating products are higher, member organizations have actively encouraged cadres, members, and union members to actively participate in using Vietnamese goods. However, we need to research and innovate more creatively in organizing the honoring ceremony to attract businesses. The propaganda work has been tried, but has not achieved the desired goal. The participation of key products, OCOP products, and high-quality service products is still limited, and needs to be strengthened and supplemented to attract participation in the following years.
