What is there to do in Thanh Hoa tourism in the first month of the new year?

Determined to enhance the tourism status, in 2025, Thanh Hoa province will organize 150 cultural, sports and tourism events (referred to as events). Of these, nearly 20 events will be held in January, focusing on spring festivals imbued with traditional culture, promising to bring visitors attractive experiences.

The opening event of the series of events in January 2025 at the World Cultural Heritage of the Ho Dynasty Citadel (Vinh Loc) is a photo exhibition with the theme: "Ho Dynasty Citadel - Heritage and Community". The photo panels are simple, everyday stories, reflecting the production activities and spiritual and cultural life of the residents of the heritage area. Through the exhibition, visitors will also be provided with information about local specialties and OCOP products. Thereby contributing to enriching tourism activities at the Ho Dynasty Citadel Heritage, while raising awareness and the role of the community in the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage. Next is a series of events: spring flower and ornamental plant exhibition with the theme "Spring flowers of the ancient capital" (January 14); recreating the space of the old Tet with the theme "Old Tet in the ancient citadel" (January 19); recreating the old Tet flag raising ceremony and releasing Ong Cong fish in the Royal Palace (January 21); art program with the theme "Spring colors of the ancient citadel" (starting from January 30); Calligraphy festival and calligraphy in early spring with the theme "Old Tet in the ancient citadel" (January 31).

Director of the Ho Dynasty Citadel Heritage Conservation Center Nguyen Ba Linh said: “The events held in January will be associated with the theme of Tet and heritage. In particular, the re-enactment of the ancient Tet space with the theme “Old Tet in the ancient citadel” aims to recreate a part of the traditional Tet space of the nation, clearly showing the mark of time in the heritage. The activity of erecting the Tet pole and releasing carp in the royal palace is a ritual expressing the wish for good things, peace, and favorable weather for the coming new year. This is an opportunity to promote the unique culture of the ancient capital in particular, Thanh Hoa in general, to tourists, actively contributing to the work of preserving the traditional cultural heritage of the homeland and the country”.

Also in January 2025, many attractive events will be held in all localities in the province. These are mainly spring festivals associated with historical relics and some events taking place at key tourist attractions such as: Festival at Phu Na Historical and Cultural Relics and Scenic Area (Nhu Thanh); Bach Y Princess Temple Festival (Nhu Xuan); Agricultural and OCOP product fair, art program and fireworks display on New Year's Eve of At Ty Spring (Thanh Hoa City); Peach Blossom and OCOP Product Fair (Trieu Son); "Ancient Space" (Provincial Museum, Thanh Hoa City); Traditional New Year Festival and Countryside Fair (Anh Phat Resort Complex, Nghi Son Town); Cua Dat Temple Festival (Thuong Xuan)...

As one of the destinations with many attractive events in January, the Provincial Museum is urgently preparing conditions to welcome guests, designing check-in corners and arranging spaces to organize folk games. Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum Trinh Dinh Duong said: According to the plan, starting from January 20, the Provincial Museum will welcome visitors to visit and experience the "Old Tet Space". There will be many artifacts recreating the subsidy period such as: Trading shops, stamps, rice books, firecrackers... and a check-in area of ​​traditional craft villages. Along with that, starting from January 25, the Provincial Museum will organize a thematic exhibition on the Communist Party of Vietnam. Coming to this thematic exhibition, people and visitors will learn about images, documents, and artifacts about the process of founding the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and the achievements of the 95 years of formation and development of the Provincial Party Committee. Through these activities, people, visitors, especially the young generation, can better understand an important historical period and appreciate and preserve the great achievements of the renovation of their homeland and country.
