The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just submitted a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on approving a list of works and projects to develop the socio-economy for the benefit of the nation and the community in Ho Chi Minh City.
Specifically, there are 9 newly registered land acquisition projects with a total area of about 234 hectares; there are 5 land acquisition projects that have been approved according to the list of projects requiring land acquisition in the Resolutions of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, but after 2 years there has been no decision on land acquisition, and now the land acquisition continues with an area of more than 18 hectares.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, after reviewing the above projects, they have full legal status to be implemented in 2025.
In the above list, the land area to be recovered mainly belongs to the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project. Specifically, the project needs to recover more than 206 hectares in 11 communes of Cu Chi district, including: Phuoc Thanh, Trung Lap Ha, Trung Lap Thuong, Phuoc Hiep, Tan Thanh Tay, Tan Thanh Dong, Nhuan Duc, Phu Hoa Dong, Phuoc Vinh An, Tan An Hoi and Tan Phu Trung.
Of which, about 7.65 hectares are residential land, 136.99 hectares are agricultural land, 1.4 hectares are non-agricultural land that is not residential land and 36.2 hectares are roads, canals, ditches, and streams...
A total of 1,877 households are affected by the project. Of these, 254 households are eligible for resettlement, 178 households have houses on agricultural land and 11 households have non-agricultural land that is not residential land.
Currently, the work of marking and determining boundaries to serve site clearance is being implemented and is expected to be completed by the end of March 2025.
It is expected that by July 2025, the People's Committee of Cu Chi district will complete the detailed compensation plan and proceed with compensation payments, reclaiming at least 173.2 hectares of land. By the end of August 2025, the site will be ready to serve the project's groundbreaking work.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway Project (phase 1) has a total investment of nearly 20,000 billion VND, implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), BOT contract (build - operate - transfer).
It is expected that on September 2 this year, the project will officially start construction of the residential road and the overpass across the highway using budget funds.
By January 2026, the main expressway (phase 1) will be started under a BOT contract, aiming for completion by the end of 2027.
