Thinh Long Shipbuilding makes its mark with 5-star yachts

Thinh Long Shipbuilding is expected to achieve a production value of more than 147 billion VND, affirming its capacity and reputation in building new 5-star yachts.

Informing Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Truong Thanh Hung, General Director of Thinh Long Shipbuilding Company Limited (SBIC Shipbuilding Industry Corporation) said that in 2024, the unit has built new 5-star yacht products for Vietnamese ship owners.

In particular, the 5-star cruise ship named Diana Cruise, design code ES.K-135, invested by Quang Anh Group Joint Stock Company, started construction in July 2024.

Diana Cruise is 93.3m long, 15.5m wide, 4.2m high, 2.5m draft, with a total crew of 47 people; supervised and classified by Vietnam Register, and can operate in waters with a maximum wave height of 2m (equivalent to wind level 8). The ship has 56 rooms, and can accommodate a total of 168 guests.

Previously, in early 2024, Thinh Long Shipbuilding also started the Capella 2 yacht project for the investor, Viet Star Cruise Investment Joint Stock Company, designed by Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Joint Stock Company (Visec). This is an overnight tourist accommodation yacht with a length of 80m, a width of 12.8m, and a side height of 3.3m.

Capella 2 Cruise is designed with 35 luxurious rooms with a total capacity of up to 120 passengers, modern equipment, best meeting the entertainment and relaxation needs of tourists to exploit on the bays of Cat Ba archipelago.

These are just two of many yachts that Thinh Long Shipbuilding Company has built for customers in the past. This shows that with the facilities and extensive capacity and experience in building many new yachts by a team of skilled engineers and technical workers, Thinh Long Shipbuilding has built a reputation and investors trust to place orders.

Production value reached over 147 billion VND

According to General Director Truong Thanh Hung, this is the result of efforts to find jobs, focus on solutions on resources and construction to deliver to investors quality products that meet progress, technical and aesthetic requirements.

In 2024, the unit built 7 new products, of which 5 were delivered; repaired and delivered 4 ships. From there, the estimated production value reached more than 147.4 billion VND, completing 101% of the assigned production value and revenue targets. The average income per employee is expected to reach 8.6 million VND/person/month, an increase of 7.5% compared to 2023.

Market promotion activities have achieved good results, signed orders with good prices and large values, ensuring the company's continuous production and business activities. Production has had positive changes, gradually overcoming difficulties, basically meeting the progress and quality as committed to the ship owner and limiting arising problems and repairs. Coordinate with the ship owner's supervisor, design unit and the ship owner's contractors to ensure quality and speed up product progress.

In 2025, with the goal of continuing to maintain stable production, Thinh Long Shipbuilding will strive to find orders. The company is closely following a number of partners who are promoting plans to build new products in 2025 such as 3,486T cargo ship No. 2, 2,900DWT cargo ship and 2 overnight cruise ships.

"It is expected to sign contracts to build more new products to deploy from the second quarter of 2025, increasing output and revenue in 2025 with a target of production value of more than 153 billion VND. Accordingly, 5 new ships will be built and 4 will be delivered," said Mr. Hung.
