Growers of this type of orchid only need to provide enough humidity, water, light and proper nutrition, the plant will grow strongly and flower all year round.

Mokara orchids are highly durable and can stay fresh for 10-15 days after cutting. This is a factor that is very suitable for the fresh flower market and decoration service industry.

Mokara orchids have many bright colors such as red, yellow, orange, pink, purple..., creating richness and attraction. Besides, this flower species often grows in clusters, each flower branch has many flowers, helping to increase aesthetics and easy to use in fresh flower decoration.

Mr. Tao shared: "I chose to grow Mokara orchids because this is a flower with high economic value, easy to care for and suitable for local climate conditions. The market for Mokara orchids is stable, opening up opportunities for sustainable agricultural production for my family."

The advantage of this orchid is that you only need to invest in the seeds once and can harvest continuously for more than 10 years. Currently, Tao's Mokara orchid garden harvests an average of 2,000 first-class flower branches per month.

Mr. Tao sells flowers for 7,000 VND/branch. In total, Mr. Tao earns about 14 million VND/month. The output market for this type of flower is relatively stable.

Mr. Tao said that in the coming time, the number of grade 1 flower branches will increase, so income will also increase when the trees grow well and flower simultaneously.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Kim Loan, Vice President of Tuy Duc District Farmers’ Association, Mr. Tao’s Mokara orchid garden is an effective economic model. This model is suitable for families with small land area.

The 1,000m2 orchid garden brings Mr. Nguyen Huu Tao, Quang Tam commune, Tuy Duc district, an income of about 14 million VND/month.

In the future, if supported in terms of technology and output, the Mokara orchid growing model can be replicated, becoming a production direction that brings high value to local people.

Mokara orchid production is a potential direction in the development of high-tech agriculture. The application of greenhouses, automatic irrigation and the choice of methods show the thinking and research of farmers in the agricultural production process.

The model has contributed to diversifying local agricultural products and increasing the economic value of the farming industry. "The Tuy Duc District Farmers' Association is encouraging and supporting other farmers to learn and replicate this model," said Ms. Loan.
