At 11:48 a.m. on June 30, at the Thanh Hoa 500kV transformer station and connection (Thieu Hoa), the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) coordinated with relevant units to successfully energize the 500kV line project, circuit 3, section of Nam Dinh I - Thanh Hoa Thermal Power Plant, meeting the requirements of the Prime Minister's direction.

The 500kV Nam Dinh I - Thanh Hoa Thermal Power Plant line was completed and energized at noon on June 30.
The 500kV Nam Dinh I Thermal Power Plant - Thanh Hoa transmission line project is one of four components of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen).
The 500 kV 3-circuit line project of Nam Dinh 1 Thermal Power Plant - Thanh Hoa passes through Nga Son district.
Mr. Luu Viet Tien, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT said: The project was implemented from the end of October 2023. On June 27, the investor-level Acceptance Council met and agreed on the project's energization plan.
With a length of about 74.4 km, the project includes 180 column foundation locations, the project passes through the provinces of Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa; in which, the project line section passing through Thanh Hoa is 56.4 km long, including 133 column foundation locations in 6 districts: Nga Son, Ha Trung, Hau Loc, Hoang Hoa, Yen Dinh and Thieu Hoa.

According to the investor, the 500kV line project, circuit 3, Nam Dinh I Thermal Power Plant - Thanh Hoa, has more favorable conditions than other sections when the Prime Minister approved the first investment policy and started construction nearly 3 months earlier than the remaining 3 sections of the entire 500kV line, circuit 3. Along with that, the construction process always receives the attention and close direction of the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, leaders of EVN, EVNNPT and the consensus and high support of the local authorities of the 3 provinces where the project passes through.
The construction team "braves the sun and rain", working "3 shifts, 4 shifts" to finish the project on time.
However, during the implementation process, the project encountered some difficulties and challenges such as some foundations on high mountains, a relatively large number of pile foundations, many pile foundation locations on mountains (48 locations, accounting for nearly 30%), many anchorages across the Ma River and Ninh Co River, and unusually rainy and sunny weather in the area. Seriously implementing the Prime Minister's direction with the spirit of "only discussing work, not retreating", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", working "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", the engineers and workers of the units participating in the project worked with the highest spirit and responsibility to bring the project to the finish line on time. 
The project, once completed, will help reduce the load and avoid overloading of existing 500 kV lines, ensuring the N-1 criteria, especially when the transmission capacity is high along the North-Central interface at a time when hydropower plants in the North are low. The line also helps to increase the stable transmission reserve on the North-Central interface, combined with the 500 kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh I Thermal Power Plant - Pho Noi lines, contributing to supplementing capacity from power sources in the North Central region to the load center in the North.
As of June 27, the foundation, grounding, and steel poles have been constructed according to the approved design and have been closely monitored during construction, ensuring quality and technical requirements. The conductors, lightning protection wires, optical cables, and accessories have been constructed according to the approved design and manufacturer's instructions, and have been closely monitored during construction, ensuring quality according to the approved design requirements. The corridor ensures a safe distance according to Decree 14/2014/ND-CP dated February 26, 2014 and Decree 51/2020/ND-CP dated April 21, 2020 on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 14/2014/ND-CP of the Government on safety protection of high-voltage power grids. NPMB has organized the construction of the project in accordance with the approved design documents, collected complete project completion documents and organized the acceptance of project items in accordance with the provisions of law. |
Since June 26, NPMB has also sent a notice to the People's Committees of Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh provinces, and the People's Committees of Thieu Hoa, Yen Dinh, Hoang Hoa, Hau Loc, Nga Son, Kim Son, Nghia Hung, and Hai Hau districts to widely inform all people, businesses and organizations in the area to know and ensure the safety of all activities in the area of the 500kV Nam Dinh I - Thanh Hoa Thermal Power Plant Line to comply with Decree 14/2014/ND-CP dated February 26, 2014 on detailed regulations for the implementation of the Electricity Law on electrical safety and Decree 51/2020/ND-CP dated April 21, 2020 amending and supplementing Decree 14/2014/ND-CP dated February 26, 2014.
The completion and energization of the 500kV Line 3 Circuit 3 Project of Nam Dinh 1 - Thanh Hoa Thermal Power Plant is a great driving force for the entire construction site of the 500kV Line 3 Circuit 3 Project to be completed, accepted and inaugurated in July 2024 under the direction of the Prime Minister.
