On December 1, comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited the raw material growing model and medicinal herb processing factory of LKVN Herbal Medicine Joint Stock Company in Quang Son commune and inspected the Song Than reservoir project in Hoa Son commune (Ninh Son).

LKVN Herbal Joint Stock Company is currently growing more than 100 hectares of ginseng and some other medicinal plants. To improve post-harvest products, the company has invested in factories and processing plants with typical products from medicinal plants such as bottled drinking water, ginseng tea bags, wild bitter melon tea...

In order to meet production and business needs, the company hopes that the province will pay attention and create conditions for the company to cooperate with organizations, individuals and farmers in the province to expand the area of raw material cultivation to 500 hectares and support the necessary procedures to build a medicinal processing factory, with an area of 1.4 hectares in Quang Son Industrial Park.

After visiting the actual production situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the company's dedication and efforts in implementing the medicinal plant growing and product processing model, bringing about practical results. Based on the enterprise's proposal, he requested relevant departments, branches and localities to focus on researching and reviewing land funds, especially land funds of forestry units, land funds of solar power projects being implemented and ineffective farming areas, thereby building a close linkage plan, ensuring harmonious interests among the participating parties. The Department of Industry and Trade is interested in guiding and accelerating support for enterprises to soon complete legal procedures for building medicinal plant processing plants in Quang Son Industrial Cluster.

For the Song Than reservoir project, according to the capital plan assigned in 2023, it is 59 billion VND. The disbursement result by the end of November 2023 reached 37,080 billion VND, reaching 62.8% of the plan. Currently, the construction progress of items such as: Earth dam, concrete dam, electrical system for operation management and auxiliary items serving the construction reached 81.81%; auxiliary dams 1, 2, canals connecting the reservoir, flood avoidance roads, management house, fences reached 85.71%... Regarding the implementation of site clearance, there are currently 7 households, with an area of more than 17 hectares that have not yet received compensation. Ninh Son district is continuing to propagate, mobilize and persuade households to hand over the project construction site soon.

Speaking at the inspection, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the coordination role of the functional agencies, local authorities as well as the efforts of the investor and units during the construction process. Up to now, the items have had certain changes. With the determination to soon put the project into water storage, he requested the Project Management Board to proactively review and promptly remove remaining difficulties and problems; at the same time, strengthen the direction of contractors to further speed up the construction progress; be flexible in balancing, allocating capital and promptly disbursing for completed volumes. The supervising units regularly inspect and monitor the construction process, ensuring the quality of the project; Ninh Son district continues to thoroughly handle cases of not handing over land for the project.
