In the November rankings announced by the International Football Federation (FIFA) on the afternoon of November 30, the Vietnamese team, despite being deducted points after two recent matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, still maintained its 94th position.

This is considered a surprise because there were previous predictions that the November rankings would fluctuate after the two recent matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia. There was even a prediction from the Footy Rankings page that the Vietnamese team would drop 1 place.

In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers last November, the Vietnamese team beat the Philippines 2-0 away, then lost 0-1 to Iraq at My Dinh. The result caused the Vietnamese team to be deducted 0.67 points. With a current total score of 1,235.58, Coach Troussier's team continues to hold the 94th position in the world, leading the Southeast Asian region, and remaining in the top 15 in Asia.

Notably in the Southeast Asian region in the 2026 World Cup qualifying round, Malaysia won two consecutive matches to make a strong rise in the rankings. With two 4-3 victories over Kyrgyzstan and 1-0 victories over Taiwan (China), Malaysia was awarded 26.15 points by FIFA, rising 7 places to rank 130. In addition, the Thai team, like Vietnam, had 1 loss (1-2 against China) and 1 win (3-1 against Singapore), was deducted a total of 0.4 points and fell from 112th to 113th place.

Leading the Asian region is still Japan, this team moved up one place to reach 17th place in the world. Meanwhile, the world leader is still Argentina, followed by France, England, Belgium, and the Netherlands in turn...
