Being in the same group with Peru, Chile and the winner of the Canada vs Trinidad & Tobago match promises to bring many difficulties for the champion Argentina at Copa America 2024.

This morning (December 8), the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) held the Copa America 2024 draw ceremony at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida (USA).
Copa America 2024 will feature 16 teams, including 10 from South America and six from CONCACAF.
Four CONCACAF spots were determined by performance in the 2023 CONCACAF Nations League A. The remaining two spots were won by the winners of the play-offs between Canada vs Trinidad & Tobago and Costa Rica vs Honduras.
According to the draw results, defending champion Argentina is in Group A with opponents Peru, Chile and the winner of the play-off match between Canada vs Trinidad & Tobago.
These opponents are not too strong but are potentially dangerous. In the past, Chile has caused Argentina many sorrows, especially when they defeated La Albiceleste in two consecutive Copa America finals (2015, 2016).
Peru have often caused problems for strong teams like Brazil and Argentina over the years with their aggressive style of play. Meanwhile, if Canada beat Trinidad & Tobago, they will cause Argentina some trouble.
However, in the context of two teams winning tickets to continue, Argentina still has the ability to win tickets to continue in Group A. With the results of the Copa America 2024 bracket, coach Scaloni's army is guaranteed to "avoid" Brazil until the final match.
Brazil are in Group D with Colombia, Paraguay and Jamaica. Of these teams, Colombia is considered the toughest opponent for Brazil. However, what worries the Selecao is not necessarily their opponents but themselves.
Brazilian football is going through a period of stagnation when they have not won in 4 consecutive matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers (1 draw, 3 losses). In which, they lost to Colombia a few days ago.
Elsewhere, Mexico are in Group B with Ecuador, Venezuela and the winner of the Honduras vs Costa Rica playoff. Hosts the US will face Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia in Group C.
Copa America 2024 will take place from June 20 to July 14 in 14 cities in the US.
