To prepare essential goods to best serve and meet the increased shopping needs of consumers in the last months of 2023, especially during Tet 2024, the Satra retail system has increased reserves of goods, essential food items, and market stabilization goods.
The unit prepares a rich quantity of quality goods to promptly meet the needs of consumers, ensuring reasonable prices, quality and diverse choices. In particular, it is necessary to avoid the situation of increased prices, poor quality goods, and shortages of goods to serve customers during this time.
Of which, the reserve of stabilized goods increased from 6% to more than 14% depending on the group, the remaining items had different increases from 4% to more than 18%, the expected increase will be in the group of fresh foods popular during Tet including vegetables, fruits, meats, beer and soft drinks.
Ms. Pham Thi Van - Deputy General Director of Satra - said: "We have worked with suppliers to not increase prices of essential goods, ensuring quality and stable supply before, during and after Tet. It is expected that the total value of essential food and foodstuffs stored for 2 months (before and after Tet Giap Thin 2024) of the Satra retail system is estimated at more than 550 billion VND, an increase of about 10% compared to Tet Quy Mao 2023".
Similarly, Mr. Dinh Quang Khoi - Marketing Director of MM Mega Market Vietnam said that 2023 is a challenging year, but the business still expects Tet season growth of about 20 - 30% compared to the same period last year. To achieve this goal, the supermarket organizes a series of programs from discounts, promotions, price stabilization to marketing Tet goods for professional customers (businesses, restaurants, hotels, canteens).
In addition, the market context is still complicated and volatile, especially the world rice price is on an upward trend and is difficult to predict - directly affecting the rice price over the past time and the food production activities in the last months of the year, Tet 2024. Therefore, to stabilize this item, Loc Troi Group has signed a commitment to accompany the stabilization of rice products in the city with the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City.
Commenting on the market, speaking to the press, Ms. Ly Kim Chi - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association - said: "From November until now, orders have started to increase because inventories in neighboring countries have decreased, and they continue to have high orders. Vietnam is considered a lucrative market for businesses... This is a welcome start, I believe that in the coming time, there will be many more improvements in the domestic market."
