With the goal of completing production targets as well as developing new markets, many businesses are currently in need of new labor sources. However, recruitment is not enough to meet the demand.

Great recruitment needs


Vinh Long currently has 2 operating industrial parks, Hoa Phu and Binh Minh, with 46 operating enterprises, including 14 domestic enterprises and 32 foreign-invested enterprises. Currently, the labor recruitment needs of enterprises in 2025 include the need to recruit new workers and to compensate for the number of workers who do not return to work, about 15,738 workers. Industries with large labor recruitment needs include: leather shoes, garment, production of spare parts and accessories, components, equipment for motor vehicles and vehicle engines, etc.


Currently, enterprises have a high demand for recruiting workers such as Furukawa Automotive Systems Vinh Long Co., Ltd. 7,000 workers, Ty Bach Co., Ltd. 2,000 workers, Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. 2,000 workers, Leader Garment Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) 2,000 workers, Thanh Cong Textile Joint Stock Company 1,000 workers, Sungjin Vinh Long Vina Co., Ltd. 500 workers, Kyungshin VietNam Co., Ltd. 200 workers,... mainly unskilled workers.


As a company that has just started operating since January, Fuhua Garment Company Limited has an investment capital of more than 250 billion VND, with a demand for about 500 workers for phase 1. However, the company has only recruited 70 workers so far. According to the company's leaders, the current demand for labor recruitment is very high and through many recruitment channels, it is still very difficult to recruit, affecting production and business activities.


According to Mr. Vo Tan Khai - Chairman of the Industrial Parks Trade Union, the demand for labor recruitment at enterprises in the province in 2025 will be up to about 20,000 people. Of which, enterprises in industrial parks need to recruit about 16,000 workers. However, the actual number of recruited workers only reached about 1/3 of the plan.


Although the Industrial Parks Trade Union has coordinated with the recruitment departments of companies and used online recruitment channels, especially social networks, the labor shortage has not improved. “We have tried to announce recruitment through many means, but labor is still very scarce. In the near future, we will coordinate with related units to organize job fairs so that workers can easily choose suitable companies,” said Mr. Khai.


Many preferential policies


Currently, according to income research, many workers believe that the salary in Vinh Long is much lower than in some provinces in the region, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam (Binh Hoa Phuoc commune, Long Ho district), he applied for a job at a number of companies in Hoa Phu Industrial Park but the salary was only about 4.5-5.5 million VND/month. Compared to the salary of about 10 million VND/month, not including overtime and other benefits in Ho Chi Minh City. "Although working in Vinh Long is close to home, such an income will not be enough to cover my current living expenses, so I chose to work in Ho Chi Minh City" - Mr. Tam said.


According to Ms. Agnes - General Manager of Leader Garment Company (Vietnam), the company has just inaugurated a new factory 3 with a demand for recruiting about 2,000 workers. At the same time, the company also increased the treatment regime to recruit enough quantity and demand. Currently, the company is paying a region II salary higher than the general level of Hoa Phu area, which is region III. At the same time, there are bonuses based on productivity, diligence bonuses, fuel support, accommodation, free lunch, overtime meals, child support and year-end bonuses.


Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Viet Trung - Deputy General Director of Ty Xuan Company Limited said that the current recruitment demand is about 2,000 employees and recruitment is done regularly, on many different recruitment channels. However, currently there are still not enough recruits even though the company has many incentives for employees.

According to Mr. Trung, according to research, currently, workers are not "keen" on working in the province because other localities have higher average salaries. Therefore, Mr. Trung also proposed "asking for a mechanism" so that the recruitment area pays salaries according to region I instead of regions II and III as at present. "That way, we can attract workers, and workers will also increase their income and stabilize their lives," Mr. Trung proposed.


Meanwhile, Furukawa Automotive Systems Vinh Long Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) needs to recruit about 300 employees and recruit monthly. With an average income of 10-12 million VND/month including salary, allowances, overtime. According to the company's leaders, employees will be trained thoroughly before officially starting work, and during the apprenticeship period, the company will still pay their salary. Currently, the company applies many preferential policies and working environments to attract employees.

Faced with high but unmet recruitment needs, businesses expect functional sectors to have solutions as well as resonant policies to support businesses in recruiting workers. Thereby, meeting the production and business needs of businesses, completing the production goals set for 2025.
