Dak Lak Province Cooperative Alliance celebrates Vietnam Cooperative Day and launches emulation movement in 2025

On the morning of April 9, the Dak Lak Cooperative Alliance celebrated Vietnam Cooperative Day and launched the emulation movement in 2025. Attending the ceremony were representatives of leaders of departments, branches, and sectors, along with delegates who are officials and members of typical cooperatives in the province.

Currently, Dak Lak province has more than 850 cooperatives, of which 680 are operating effectively. Of these, about 70% are agricultural cooperatives, playing an important role in the production, processing and consumption of key agricultural products such as coffee, pepper, durian, avocado. The total number of cooperative members in the province is estimated at 71,500 people.

In 2024, the average revenue of cooperatives will reach about 2.5 billion VND/year. Many cooperatives have proactively applied technology and digital transformation in management and production, typically ROFC Agricultural Service Tourism Cooperative (Krong Nang district) or Ea Tu Fair Agricultural Service Cooperative (Buon Ma city), 714 Agricultural Cooperative (Ea Kar district) - the unit honored as a typical cooperative nationwide.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Bai - Chairman of the Dak Lak Cooperative Union emphasized the important role of the collective economic sector in socio-economic development, especially in the fields of agriculture, new rural construction and improving the lives of members. The provincial Cooperative Union called on cooperatives in the area to continue to promote the spirit of initiative and creativity, promote the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and value chain linkage to improve operational efficiency. Strive to increase the rate of stable and profitable cooperatives to 80% or more, of which the number of good cooperatives reaches over 55%, reducing the number of weak cooperatives to below 10%; during the year, build at least 5 cooperative models, focusing on new cooperative models, cooperative models associated with value chains. On the occasion of its traditional day, the Dak Lak Provincial Cooperative Union continues to affirm its role as a representative organization, supporting and promoting the development of a sustainable, effective and highly integrated cooperative economic sector in the coming period.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance awarded the Emulation Flag to 01 collective, Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 01 individual, and the Commemorative Medal "For the cause of cooperative development" to 06 individuals; the Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to 01 collective with outstanding achievements in cooperative activities in recent times.
