Quang Tri province National Assembly delegation meets voters

Today, October 4, the National Assembly Delegation of the province, including the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong; Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Colonel Nguyen Huu Dan, met with voters before the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly in Ward 3, Quang Tri town and Dong Thanh ward, Dong Ha city.

There should be a unified set of standard textbooks applied nationwide.

Voters of Ward 3, Quang Tri town proposed that the Government direct the Ministry of Education and Training to conduct research to unify a set of standard textbooks applied nationwide at each level of education as before to facilitate teaching and learning, avoiding waste in the use of books.

The Ministry of Education and Training needs to direct and have mechanisms and solutions to further improve the quality of vocational training schools; strictly manage international educational cooperation activities; re-plan universities because there are currently too many schools nationwide; consider reducing the workload for teachers at all levels; strengthen the rights of teachers and amend some regulations on education to protect the prestige, honor and dignity of teachers; there should be more regulations and sanctions to strictly deter students who violate ethics.

In addition, voters of Ward 3, Quang Tri town and Dong Thanh ward, Dong Ha city requested the Party, State and Government to strengthen the work of preventing and combating corruption; strictly handle individuals who abuse their power to commit corruption; pay more attention to the regime and policies for grassroots cadres in villages and hamlets nationwide and forces that participated in the fight to protect the border and islands.

Need to boost investment to build modern, smart cities

Voters of Dong Thanh Ward, Dong Ha City proposed that authorities at all levels, departments and branches should promote the synchronous planning of Dong Ha City's traffic network in a modern direction; promptly complete the construction of traffic routes at both ends of Song Hieu Bridge; invest in completing the lighting system on some roads in the ward and upgrade degraded and damaged road sections.

Voters of Ward 3, Quang Tri town, recommended that authorities at all levels should focus on investing in developing urban areas in the North of the Ancient Citadel to change the urban appearance and promote synchronous economic development on both sides of the Thach Han River.

Voters also recommended that authorities at all levels, departments and branches need to resolve land use disputes; promptly invest in building embankments to prevent landslides along the riverbank section passing through Tan My village, Hai Le commune, Quang Tri town; invest in completing the electricity and water system for households in row 2, Quarter 2, Dong Thanh ward, Dong Ha city for long-term use and stable life because currently these households have to use electricity and water from row 1 along National Highway 1. There should be a plan to repair and redesign some road sections, curves, and intersections that pose a risk of traffic accidents in Dong Thanh ward, Dong Ha city.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong has accepted the voters' legitimate recommendations sent to the National Assembly, the Government, central ministries and branches, and the provincial National Assembly delegation will study and report on solutions in the coming time.

For issues under local authority such as land use rights disputes, road and street light repairs, the People's Committee of Quang Tri town and Dong Ha city are requested to consider and promptly resolve them.

Assign the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to survey and assess landslides along the riverbank in Tan My village, Hai Le commune to consider project development, advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to competent authorities for approval.

Assign the Department of Transport to coordinate with the People's Committee of Dong Ha City to review the road section from An Lac area to Cau Song to grasp the shortcomings that people have reported about the sidewalk being too high compared to the house floor; re-check the roads with shortcomings and potential traffic accidents that voters have reported to have a solution to ensure traffic safety.

Leaders of Quang Tri town and Dong Ha city received, discussed and explained a number of issues that voters were concerned about.
