Novak Djokovic failed to increase his Australian Open title tally to 11 this year. The Serbian was eliminated in the semi-finals by Jannik Sinner after four sets.

In set 2, Novak Djokovic continued to play badly. He let his opponent break him in the second service game. Djokovic made 14 unforced errors in this game (Sinner only made 4). The Serbian lost 2-6.

Djokovic only improved in the third set. Both players played evenly and used their serves. There were no break points until Djokovic and Sinner went into a tie-break, which the 2023 Australian Open champion won.

However, Djokovic could not maintain good plays in the fourth set. Jannik Sinner broke in the fourth game and Djokovic continued to make many unforced errors. Sinner did not lose a single service game in this set and won 6-3, thereby defeating Djokovic with the final score of 3-1 (6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3).

This is Jannik Sinner's third victory in eight matches against Novak Djokovic. The Italian is in his first Grand Slam final. The fourth seed will face the winner of the match between Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev.
