This is the minimum score that candidates need to achieve to apply for admission to universities, the admission score can be equal to or higher than this level.
This year, candidates applying to the National Economics University are required to have a minimum score of 85/150 for the Hanoi National University Aptitude Test (HSA), a minimum score of 700/1200 for the Ho Chi Minh City National University Aptitude Test (APT), and a minimum score of 60/100 for the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Thinking Test (TSA). Candidates can apply for admission independently using these exam scores, or in combination with international English certificates such as IELTS from 5.5, TOEFL iBT 46 or higher.
Foreign Trade University continues to consider domestic and international competency assessment certificates. The school uses the results of two competency assessment exams organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University. The floor scores are 100/150 and 850/1200, respectively, the same as last year.
For international certificates, the school still uses SAT, ACT and A-Level. The requirements for the A-Level group remain unchanged, with SAT from 1380/1600 and ACT from 30/36 and above. Last year, the requirements for these two certificates were 1260 and 27 respectively.

At the University of Commerce , candidates need to have a score of 80/150 or higher in the 2025 competency assessment test organized by Hanoi National University or a score of 50/100 or higher in the 2025 thinking assessment test organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology. With the method of considering international certificates, the school accepts IELTS from 5.0 or higher or equivalent.
Banking Academy continues to use the method of considering domestic certificates such as V-SAT and the results of the Hanoi National University's capacity assessment in 2025. All are converted to a 30-point scale. In which, the minimum HSA to submit an application is 85/150 points and an HSA of 110 points or more is counted as 10 points. With the method of considering international certificates, candidates need a SAT certificate of 1,200 points or more; IELTS of 6.0 or more; TOEFT iBT of 72 points or more.
From 2025, universities must convert equivalent scores between admission methods to a common scale. The conversion applies to majors and programs with multiple admission methods, to ensure that the benchmark scores for the same major are equivalent and accurately assess the core competencies of learners.
However, many opinions say that it is impossible to convert between exams with different assessment nature. For example, the ACT, SAT, TSA, HSA exams are different from the high school graduation exam, so it is difficult to convert accurately.
Discussing this issue, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son recently said that he agreed with the above viewpoint. If the exams assess completely different abilities, it is clear that these different methods cannot be used to assess the abilities of candidates in the same field; they can only be used for many different fields with different requirements.
Conversely, if the methods used to assess candidates for a major must have the same requirements (or only slightly different ones). The methods may differ in the way they are assessed, but must assess the same core competencies of candidates.
"This is a principle that helps ensure fairness in admission. Therefore, the admission score must be convertible," Mr. Son emphasized.
