The benchmark score for grade 10 English major Project 5695 is the highest in Ho Chi Minh City

This is the first school year that Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted enroll students in the English specialized class Project 5695. A total of 545 students registered for these specialized classes.

To take the entrance exam for English specialized classes under Project 5695, in addition to the three required subjects (literature, math, foreign language), students must take an additional English specialized exam following the orientation of integrating 3 subjects including English and math - science, all in English.

With the above results, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City set a target of opening two specialized English 10th grade classes under Project 5695 for each of Le Hong Phong and Tran Dai Nghia specialized high schools, each with 70 targets.

As one of the students admitted to the 10th grade English specialized class Project 5695 of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Minh Gia Khanh, a 9th grade student at Saigon Thuc Hanh Secondary School (school year 2023-2024) said that he was very happy and surprised when this class had the highest standard score in Ho Chi Minh City in this year's 10th grade specialized class admission round.

Having entered his dream school and the class with the highest admission score in Ho Chi Minh City in this year's 10th grade specialized enrollment, Gia Khanh expressed his hope that the program's dedicated and highly qualified teachers would support him in continuing his studies.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the English specialized class Project 5695 of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted leads the 10th grade specialized standard score this year with 37.5 points. The standard score at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted is also very high at 37 points, demonstrating the quality input of this program.

"Opening the English specialized class under Project 5695 is in line with the trend of international integration in education, whereby students have the opportunity to develop their English language skills in depth and access international standards such as Edexcel iGCSE, PEIC... within the framework of two specialized schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

Students who passed the 10th grade entrance exam and participated in the English program Project 5695 are students with excellent thinking and language skills. With the efforts of teachers and students, I believe that in the coming school years, students will achieve even more success and be ready to become global citizens in the future," Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu shared.

Project 5695 and the English specialized system according to Project 5695 on "Teaching and learning Math, Science and English subjects integrating the English and Vietnamese programs at public schools in Ho Chi Minh City" approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, referred to as the integrated English program, were implemented from the 2014-2015 school year.

The project was assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to direct, along with EMG to implement teaching in primary, secondary and high schools in the city.

From the 2024-2025 school year, two schools, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, will begin enrolling students for the English specialized class Project 5695, in accordance with Circular No. 05/2023/TT-BGDDT on the organization and operation of specialized high schools, creating learning conditions for students who have studied the integrated English program and students who have not studied but want to study specialized classes in specialized schools.
