A special exhibition by artist Colin Jin is being held in Seoul (running until October 25), in which Korean cultural heritage is represented by lego blocks.
Artist Colin Jin used legos to create a scene of Jongmyo Jeryeak (ritual music of the Ancestral Shrine). |
These Lego blocks were not manufactured or provided with any instructions, but were made by the author himself over a period of 18 months. Artist Colin Jin used Lego to create a scene of Jongmyo Jeryeak (ritual music of the ancestral shrine) of the Joseon Dynasty, which is both a national intangible cultural heritage and a world intangible cultural heritage recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
This is the first time that a Korean cultural heritage has been represented by Lego blocks. The exhibition also features more than 300 works, such as the dragon-patterned roof tiles of Sacheonwang Temple (Four Heavenly Kings) in Gyeongju City, and traditional Korean masks.
