In an interview with a VNA reporter in Beijing, researcher Liu Anh noted that President Xi Jinping chose to visit Vietnam as his first visit this year and the leaders of the two countries have established a deep friendship, "a close Vietnam-China relationship, both comrades and brothers". The two sides have highly complementary industries and increasingly close economic and trade relations. Both are committed to building a community of shared future, Vietnam-China, which has strategic significance.

This year marks the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China. The traditional friendship of “both comrades and brothers” between Vietnam and China, established by Chairman Mao Zedong and Chairman Ho Chi Minh and nurtured by successive leaders of the two countries, passed down from generation to generation, has become a valuable common asset of the two Parties and two countries. The people of the two countries join hands in solidarity and support each other, the two countries are “good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners”.

According to researcher Luu Anh, Vietnam and China have similar political systems and similar development paths. Both are led by the Communist Party and have a high level of political trust. In recent years, cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural fields has been comprehensively strengthened. High-ranking leaders of the two parties and countries have conducted many exchanges and visits to each other. The two sides maintain close communication on major strategic issues and exchanges at all levels are increasingly closer. In addition, China and Vietnam have also established a “3+3” strategic dialogue mechanism on diplomacy, public security and defense.

Ms. Liu Ying said that China and Vietnam not only have similarities in political systems, but also increasingly close economic and trade cooperation. Both are high-growth economies and are striving to achieve the goal of national modernization. Bilateral economic and trade cooperation is developing strongly, richly and diversely, from textiles to household appliances, from agricultural products to industrial products, from electromechanical products to new energy automobiles.

This researcher believes that China’s modernization experience can be a useful reference for Vietnam. In addition, substantive cooperation between the two countries in many areas, such as scientific and technological innovation or digital economy, is increasingly deepening. These efforts, along with the development of modern productive forces, will contribute to promoting the modernization process in both China and Vietnam.

In economic and trade cooperation, China and Vietnam can not only take advantage of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and other free trade agreements and international sister city platforms that the two countries participate in, but also rely on the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation mechanism and the cooperation mechanism between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China to enhance the positions of the two countries in the global industrial chain and supply chain, thereby accelerating the development of new quality productivity, promoting regional economic integration and high-quality development of China and Vietnam. The economic and trade development between China and Vietnam also promotes cultural exchanges between the two countries and promotes the development of tourism.

Researcher Luu Anh emphasized that President Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam is a journey to enhance substantive cooperation between the two countries. Scholar Luu Anh believes that this visit will certainly achieve practical results, promote bilateral relations; achieve the goal of higher political trust; more substantive defense-security cooperation; deeper substantive cooperation; more solid social foundation; closer multilateral coordination....

In addition, President Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam and two other Southeast Asian countries, Malaysia and Cambodia, this time will contribute to strengthening economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN, promoting substantive cooperation between the two sides in a larger scope, broader fields and deeper levels, and bringing regional economy and even economic globalization back on track.
