Promote, advertise and connect tourists to Hue

2024 is the 8th year that Thua Thien Hue tourism industry implements the tasks of Resolution 08-NQ/TW, dated January 16, 2017 of the Politburo and Resolution 03-NQ/TU, dated November 8, 2016 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

In addition, this is also the time to focus on effectively implementing the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU, dated May 24, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on building Thua Thien Hue to be worthy of being one of the major and unique centers of the country and Southeast Asia in terms of tourism in the period of 2021-2025 and vision to 2030.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, said that identifying tourism as a key economic sector, in recent times, the local government and the tourism industry of Thua Thien Hue have been implementing many practical solutions to improve products and enhance service quality.

At this conference, the locality hopes to hear frank exchanges and discussions from leaders of corporations, associations, and businesses in the tourism sector as well as listen to the opinions of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and leading experts so that provincial leaders can come up with solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, create breakthroughs in attracting tourists to Hue, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality in the coming time as expected.

According to Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, this conference is meaningful when Thua Thien Hue province is preparing to host the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025. It demonstrates the proactive participation of the tourism business community in joining hands with state management agencies in promoting destinations and linking to develop local tourism.

With its inherent tourism potential, Mr. Ha Van Sieu said that Thua Thien Hue province needs to implement more solutions to affirm its tourism position. Accordingly, Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association and tourism businesses in the area need to focus on researching and developing unique tourism products, associated with the strengths of cultural identity, tangible and intangible heritage of the locality to create a premise for promoting and linking the development of tourism products and programs.

Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism needs to guide businesses to strengthen coordination in promoting destinations and building the tourism brand "Hue - Capital of culture and heritage". Research and develop new types of tourism products, such as rural agricultural tourism, sports tourism, conferences... Restore and develop specialties associated with local traditional occupations.

In addition, the locality also needs to strengthen the management of tourist destinations, perfect and effectively promote tourism development policies, carry out digital transformation, and apply smart applications in the tourism sector to effectively exploit tourism development resources. Develop diverse types of tourism in the direction of green growth such as eco-tourism, agricultural tourism, exploring and experiencing natural and cultural heritage values, resorts, health care, responsible tourism, creating job opportunities and sharing benefits with the community...

In addition, Thua Thien Hue province also needs to closely coordinate with central authorities, diplomatic agencies, media, aviation, and large travel agencies to promote the image of local tourism to domestic and international tourists. During the discussion, the conference received many contributions, ideas and initiatives from tourism businesses across the country. Many specific solutions were proposed for the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province and tourism industry leaders to study and orient tourism businesses in the area to operate effectively in the coming time.

On the sidelines of the conference, during the two days from September 18-19, more than 70 travel agencies and travel associations nationwide had a famtrip program to visit, survey, and evaluate tours and tourist destinations in Thua Thien Hue such as: Kien Trung Palace, IV COM virtual reality experience, VR spaceship experience, Hue culinary experience; cultural experience - people of A Luoi ethnic group...

In the first 8 months of 2024, the number of visitors to Hue is estimated at 2,739,496 (of which international visitors are estimated at 931,801, domestic visitors are estimated at 1,807,695). Overnight visitors are estimated at 1,397,040). Tourism revenue is estimated at nearly 6,000 billion VND.

Currently, the Top 10 markets leading tourists to Thua Thien Hue include: Taiwan, Thailand, USA, Malaysia, France, UK, Australia, Germany, Spain, and South Korea.
