Strengthening support for Vietnamese enterprises in promoting trade and investment in the United States

The Vietnam Trade Office in Houston has developed a plan to support businesses in the fields of trade promotion, import-export and investment in the United States.

Implementing the 2024 program of activities, the Trade Office - Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston has developed a plan to support Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of trade promotion, import-export and investment. These activities not only help promote trade but also expand cooperation with state agencies, industry associations and enterprises in the United States, especially in the Southern United States.

In addition to regular support for trade promotion and import-export activities, the Trade Office Branch pays special attention to consulting and connecting Vietnamese enterprises to access new technology and modern services from the United States. These initiatives aim to meet the need for innovation and enhance the competitiveness of domestic enterprises.

In 2024, the trade office held many working sessions with the Greater Houston Partnership Chamber of Commerce - the largest business organization in the Houston area, Texas. The meetings aimed to introduce potential partners and share cooperation opportunities in the fields of import and export, investment and technology transfer. Through the working sessions, many businesses found new cooperation opportunities, contributing to promoting bilateral economic development.

Another highlight is the participation in Gastech 2024 - the world's largest energy exhibition and conference taking place from September 17 to 20 in Houston. Gastech focuses on natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, climate technology, and low-carbon solutions. The event is not only a place for international businesses to meet but also a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to access new technologies and markets. Many cooperative relationships have been established, opening up important business and investment opportunities.

In 2024, the trade office introduced 16 Vietnamese-American businesses to attend the trade connection session on December 9, 2024. The event, held in Ho Chi Minh City, was an opportunity for Vietnamese-American businesses to share practical experiences in penetrating and developing sustainably in the US market. In particular, the program attracted the attention of many experts, scholars and representatives of domestic and foreign businesses. Through this, Vietnamese businesses can learn and apply effective strategies to expand the market.

In the first quarter of 2025, the trade branch plans to continue meeting and working with chambers of commerce, industry associations, research institutes and universities in the southern United States. Economic, trade and investment forums are expected to be held to create conditions for US businesses to learn more about the Vietnamese market. At the same time, US partners will have the opportunity to introduce new technologies, creating conditions for transfer and cooperation with Vietnamese businesses.

In addition, investment promotion activities will focus on key industries such as energy, oil and gas and high technology. Cooperation programs will not only stop at trade connection but also expand to the fields of research and training, improving the capacity of domestic human resources.

Through these activities, the Trade Office - Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston affirms its important role in promoting international economic and trade cooperation. This is an important step towards building a long-term, sustainable cooperative relationship between Vietnamese and US enterprises.
