In Official Dispatch No. 4313/VPCP-CN dated June 13, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha agreed that the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province will continue to invest in phase 1 of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway Project (section Km 19+00 - Km 53+00 in Hoa Binh province) according to Decision No. 17/2022/QD-TTg dated July 28, 2022 of the Prime Minister with a scale of 02 lanes, and a clearance area of 04 lanes.

The People's Committee of Hoa Binh province received opinions from relevant Ministries and organized the implementation of the Project investment to ensure progress, quality, efficiency and compliance with legal regulations.

* The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway project (section Km 19+00 - Km 53+00 in Hoa Binh province) has a total length of 32.5 km with the starting point in Da Bac town and the ending point in Chieng Yen commune, Van Ho, Son La.

The investment scale is divided into 2 phases, in which phase 1 designs and constructs the route with a design speed of 80 km/h, and sections with difficult terrain have a design speed of 60 km/h.

Upon completion, this expressway will connect the external transport network of Son La province with Hoa Binh and with the capital Hanoi, creating an expressway axis connecting the Northwest region with the key economic region of the North, connecting to the Northeast border gate and Lach Huyen international seaport. At the same time, it will reduce the load on National Highway 6, Hoa Binh - Son La section, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of localities in the two provinces, creating conditions to exploit the maximum potential and advantages of the localities.
