Political theory training for 50 Lao officials

50 trainees who are current leaders and candidates for leadership positions of provincial and district-level departments, agencies and branches of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces (Laos) will be trained in political theory for 10 months in a concentrated form in Quang Tri. The course opened today, March 5, with the participation of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board Phan Van Phung.

During the 10-month course (course XIII), students will have 3 months of Vietnamese language study taught by Quang Tri Pedagogical College, 6 months of political theory study taught by Le Duan Political School, 1 month of holidays and Tet and will do field research in the province and the country to learn more about the socio-economics, culture and people of Vietnam.

The content of the LLCT section is implemented according to the new program of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, including 13 subjects with a total of 1,056 periods. The program equips students with basic and necessary knowledge of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought; viewpoints and guidelines of the Communist Party of Vietnam, policies and laws of the Vietnamese State; some contents of the administrative course and leadership and management skills. At the same time, it helps students apply the knowledge to practical work.

Since 2008, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has assigned Le Duan Political School to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, provincial departments, branches and sectors to conduct 12 courses of political theory training with 530 students who are officials from Salavan and Savannakhet provinces. Course XIII is a class continuing to implement the cooperation agreement between Quang Tri province and Salavan and Savannakhet provinces for the period 2023-2025, signed by the high-ranking delegation of the three provinces in December 2022 in Dong Ha City.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang affirmed that this course is a continuation of the achievements in politics, economy, culture, society and solidarity between Quang Tri province and the two provinces of Salavan and Savannakhet in particular, the two Parties and the two States in general. Therefore, it is recommended that the teaching staff of Le Duan Political School, based on the approved curriculum, apply the practical situation of the Lao revolution and the practical situation of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces to analyze and reason in the teaching process, thereby creating favorable conditions for students in studying as well as applying in practical work. To effectively implement this content, it is recommended that relevant authorities actively support Le Duan Political School to effectively carry out the task of training political theory for cadres of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces.

Training LLCT to help Laos is a special task, a special political task that the Party and State pay great attention to, thereby building the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos to develop more and more sustainably, on the basis of the success of the previous 12 courses, we believe that this course will be a great success.
