On March 15, the Vietnam Military History Museum presided over and coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An and the family of General Chu Huy Man to organize the exhibition "General Chu Huy Man - The virtuous and talented "Hai Manh" General".

The exhibition is held to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth of General Chu Huy Man (March 17, 1913 - March 17, 2023), former member of the Politburo, former Vice Chairman of the State Council (now Vice President), former Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

In his opening speech, Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said that General Chu Huy Man, whose birth name was Chu Van Dieu, was born on March 17, 1913 in Yen Luu Commune, Yen Truong District, Hung Nguyen District (now Hung Hoa Commune, Vinh City, Nghe An Province). On this sacred land of talented people and a rich revolutionary tradition, he soon absorbed the cultural and patriotic traditions of his homeland and was enlightened about the revolution.

He was a staunch revolutionary soldier, an outstanding politician and military man of our Army, and an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh. His entire life and career were a shining example of loyalty to the Party, wholehearted service to the Fatherland and the People, lifelong struggle for the ideal of national independence and socialism, for the benefit of the nation, for the happiness of the People, for the growth and victory of the Vietnam People's Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy emphasized: The exhibition is an activity to pay tribute to and honor the great contributions of General Chu Huy Man in the cause of national liberation, national reunification, building and defending the Fatherland; thereby propagating and educating cadres, soldiers and people, especially the young generation, to actively study, work, and contribute their strength and intelligence to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Accordingly, the Exhibition introduces nearly 200 typical images, documents and artifacts reflecting the great contributions of General Chu Huy Man in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

The exhibition includes:

Introduction: Displaying typical images showing the special care and affection of President Ho Chi Minh, Party, State and Army leaders for General Chu Huy Man.

Part 1 - Youth nurturing great ambitions: Displaying typical images and documents about the traditions of the homeland and family - where General Chu Huy Man was born, grew up and nurtured the soul, patriotism and revolutionary will of the young man Chu Van Dieu (birth name of General Chu Huy Man) who participated in revolutionary activities early and from there made important contributions to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 in Quang Nam.

Part 2 - The virtuous and multi-talented General "Hai Manh": Displaying typical images, documents, and artifacts reflecting the revolutionary activities of General Chu Huy Man; the General's feelings for his homeland, family; comrades, teammates, and daily life. In his positions as Political Commissar, Commander in regiments, divisions, military regions, fronts, etc., he affirmed his role as an excellent military-political leader and commander, making many great contributions to the growth and development of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of national liberation and reunification (1945 - 1975).

As Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Vice Chairman of the State Council, he, together with the Central Military Party Committee (now the Central Military Commission), the Ministry of National Defense, focused on leading and directing military and defense work, especially the issue of building and consolidating the Party organization, training and developing the next generation of cadres, paying attention to building a team of political cadres, commanding cadres of combined arms at the campaign and strategic levels... contributing many merits to the Party, State, and Army in the cause of national construction and development, expanding defense foreign relations.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy said that the artifacts and documents introduced at the exhibition are historical artifacts, kept at the Vietnam National Museum of History, the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum, the Military Region 5 Museum and the family of General Chu Huy Man. Among them, there are many typical artifacts introduced to the public for the first time, such as: The blue shirt of Political Commissar Chu Huy Man, Commander of Military Region 5 used in the battlefield of Region 5, 1965 - 1975; Letter of Major General Chu Huy Man, Commander of Military Region 5, written on December 5, 1969, sent to the Standing Party Committee and Command Board of Regiment 2, Division 2, encouraging the Regiment to complete the combat mission in Tra Bong, Quang Ngai; group of artifacts: Table and chair set, Lamp, Pen used by General Chu Huy Man during his time working at the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army from 1977 - 1986; Order to promote General Chu Huy Man, 1980…

The exhibition opens to visitors from March 15, 2023 and lasts until June 15, 2023 at the Vietnam Military History Museum, 28A Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh, Hanoi./.
