Meritorious Artist Khuong Duc Thuan is one of three artists in the People's Public Security force whose names are on the list of artists who were awarded the title of People's Artist for the 10th time in 2023 by the President.
Director, Meritorious Artist Khuong Duc Thuan (born 1958) is currently an actor of the People's Public Security Drama Troupe (CAND), now the CAND Drama Theater.
He studied at the University of Theatre and Cinema with artists such as Tat Binh, Nguyen Anh Dung... After graduating, he became an actor in the Central Liberation Army Art Troupe.
In 1976, Khuong Duc Thuan became an actor of the Hanoi Cheo Troupe, but he realized that it was not his land. In 1982, the male artist decided to join the Drama Troupe, People's Police Theater, this was a major turning point in Khuong Duc Thuan's artistic career.

It seems that the police quality has seeped into the blood of Meritorious Artist Khuong Duc Thuan, as a director once commented about the actor: "Duc Thuan standing still already looks like a policeman."

As a former soldier, having experienced difficult days on the battlefield of Military Region 5, that helped Meritorious Artist Duc Thuan successfully play the role of General Vo Nguyen Giap, leaving many impressions and emotions for the audience.
Meritorious Artist Khuong Duc Thuan once emotionally said that he was very happy because director Long Van trusted him with one of the most important roles, which is the role of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the legendary general of the Vietnamese people.
Before filming, General Nguyen Chuong arranged for his film crew to visit the General.
"When he knew I was playing the role of the General, he looked at me and said: "You don't need to look like him to play him, what's important is that he has the same spirit and will as him." He also gave me many books, tapes, and documents with images related to him so I could study and play the role properly," the male artist once shared.

"To properly portray the General's eyes and demeanor, I had to research very carefully how to clearly portray the personality and character of this great man of the nation. There were many scenes that moved me.
Especially when I filmed the scene where the General wore a thin coat in the cold night with a weathered face, full of worries about the plan to liberate Saigon," Khuong Duc Thuan confided.
Every year, on April 30, the film Liberation of Saigon is shown, so that future generations can watch and understand the fierce war that their ancestors had to go through.
In cinema, Meritorious Artist Khuong Duc Thuan also made his mark as a director in a number of highly appreciated films about the People's Public Security Forces, notably the TV series The Children of Saigon Special Forces (in collaboration with director Minh Quang) - the work won the award for favorite TV series in 2011 - 2012 organized by the television magazine, the film Exploding Battleship (in collaboration with director Nguyen Chi Thanh)...
As an artist, used to the spotlight, but every time he steps on stage or acts in a movie, the Meritorious Artist still feels as emotional as the first time.
He felt like he was no longer acting but sharing with his colleagues as well as expressing the feelings of soldiers struggling in the fight against crime.
Regarding his private life, Khuong Duc Thuan is one of the most secretive famous male artists in the North. It is only known that Khuong Duc Thuan is enjoying a peaceful life with his family in an apartment in Hanoi. The male artist is now a grandfather and has many children and grandchildren.
He does not share much with the public or the media about his family. On his personal page, the male artist also rarely updates his daily life images.
