Amid escalating tensions between Israel and the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel on September 23 issued recommendations on security and safety measures for the Vietnamese community living, working and studying there, reported a VNA correspondent in Tel Aviv.

The announcement stated: On September 22-23, Hezbollah launched about 150-160 rockets and drones every day into cities in northern Israel, some as far as 50km from the border (in the cities of Haifa, Nazareth, Afula, Jezreel Valley, etc.). This is considered the largest and deepest attack on Israeli territory by Hezbollah since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023.

The attack was in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut on the night of September 20, which killed Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Akil.

Responding to the escalating tensions, the Israel Defense Forces also significantly increased their extensive attacks on some 300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon on September 23.

The retaliatory attacks on each other with increasing intensity and scale have made the conflict between the two sides increasingly complicated.

Given the above situation and to ensure absolute safety, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel would like to inform our community of the following:

1. Regularly monitor and update the current situation in Israel on reputable local media. Avoid going to areas that do not ensure security and safety, areas at risk of attacks by Hezbollah forces, especially northern Israel.

2. Our community across Israel, especially those living in cities in northern Israel, must strictly comply with the regulations and instructions on security measures of the local authorities. Proactively develop plans and strategies to ensure the safety and security of yourself and your loved ones in the current war context.

3. Regularly keep in touch with the Embassy. In case of emergency, need support and need to know information about citizen protection plans, we recommend that our citizens contact the citizen protection hotline./.
