With a similar fee, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy plans to collect from 20.9 - 27.6 million VND for new students in the 2023 - 2024 school year. The school enrolls 7 majors, including: Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, Public Health.
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (HCMC) plans to collect tuition fees ranging from 31.6 to 209 million VND/year. Specifically, for general training programs, tuition fees range from 31.6 to 52.2 million VND/year. Of which, the tuition fee of 55.2 million VND applies to Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry (an increase of about 12 to 13 million VND compared to the previous school year).
With the Vietnamese - German Medical program, the tuition fee is 209 million VND/year (an increase of 19 million compared to last year).
Vinh Medical University plans to charge 23 million VND/year for Medicine and Pharmacy. Preventive Medicine charges 20 million VND/year and the lowest is Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology at 17.5 million VND.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced that the expected tuition fee for the 2023-2024 school year will increase sharply from 14.3 to 55 million VND/school year. Next school year, the Medicine - general education program will have the highest tuition fee of 55 million VND/school year (an increase of 40.7 million VND compared to 2022).
Next, the tuition fee for Pharmacy is 51 million VND/year (an increase of 36.7 million compared to last year). The remaining majors charge 27.6 million VND, an increase of 13.3 million.
Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to collect an average tuition fee of 37.6 million VND/year for new students in the 2023-2024 school year (an increase of 13 million compared to last year). The school has not yet announced detailed tuition fees for each major.
Last year, the school planned to charge tuition fees for Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy at VND44.1 million per year. Tuition fees for Traditional Medicine and Preventive Medicine were expected to be VND39.2 million. Tuition fees for other majors ranged from VND29.4 to VND34.3 million. These levels all increased compared to the VND24.6 million tuition fee in 2021.
Hanoi University of Pharmacy plans to charge a new tuition fee of 24.5 million VND/academic year for the general program - Pharmacy (an increase of more than 10 million VND compared to last year), and 18.5 million VND - Pharmaceutical Chemistry, the lowest is 13.5 million VND - Biotechnology. The tuition fees for Nursing, Nursing specializing in Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Midwifery, Dental Prosthetics, Medical Testing, Medical Imaging, Rehabilitation, and Nutrition are 41.8 million VND/school year (an increase of 4.8 million VND).
The majors with lower increases are Preventive Medicine and Traditional Medicine with tuition fees of 45 million VND/school year (an increase of 3.2 million VND).
The three majors that keep their tuition fees the same are Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy, with tuition fees of 77, 74.8, and 55 million VND/year, respectively.
The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (University of Danang) is expected to increase from 20.9 to 27.6 million VND/year. Last year, the school had tuition fees from 18.5 to 24.5 million VND/year depending on the major. The enrollment plan also clearly states that tuition fees for the remaining years will increase according to the roadmap prescribed by the State.
Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy also plans to raise tuition fees from 18.5 to 24.5 million VND/year to 20.9 to 27.6 million VND/year in the 2023-2024 school year.
The tuition fee for the Faculty of Medicine (Ho Chi Minh City National University) for the majors of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and traditional medicine is expected to be 55 million VND, an increase of 6 million VND compared to the previous school year. The nursing major has a smaller increase, from 37 to 40 million VND/year. This fee is lower than the prescribed ceiling by several hundred thousand VND to 1.8 million VND/year.
The University of Public Health and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue University) only announced that tuition fees will increase according to the roadmap and regulations in Decree 81 of the Government, without providing specific information about the amount and roadmap for tuition fee increase.
At a working session with the Ministry of Education and Training on May 10, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha agreed with the plan for universities to increase tuition fees from the 2023-2024 school year according to Decree 81.
Accordingly, the tuition fee ceiling for public universities that have not yet covered their regular expenses is 14.1 - 27.6 million VND/school year, depending on the major - the highest is for Medicine and Pharmacy at 27.6 million VND/year, for the general system.
Universities that ensure regular expenditures can collect a maximum of twice the above level, and universities that ensure regular expenditures and investment expenditures can collect a maximum of 2.5 times higher.
For training programs that are accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training or foreign standards, universities are allowed to determine their own tuition fees but must be transparent to learners and society.
