- Opening of Kien Giang Red Journey and honoring voluntary blood donors in 2023
- The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs' Trade Union launched a voluntary blood donation movement in 2023.
Youth Union members and young people participate in donating blood at the "Red Sunday" Festival organized by the Da Nang City Youth Union.
At the ceremony, 13 outstanding groups, families and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
The Organizing Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee to 159 groups and individuals; 101 people were awarded Certificates of Merit from the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee.
As one of the localities with a high rate of blood donors compared to the population in the country for many years, in recent times, through activities spreading the voluntary blood donation movement such as "Pink Spring Festival", "Pink Summer Blood Drops", "Red Journey" and many effective blood donation models in localities, each year Da Nang City receives tens of thousands of blood units, promptly providing enough blood needed for emergency and treatment of patients at medical facilities.
In 2022, the whole city organized a campaign to receive 32,267 units of blood, reaching 107% of the annual plan, repeat blood donations reached 52%, blood donations of 350 ml volume reached 54%, the rate of people participating in voluntary blood donation reached 2.7%.
The Da Nang Youth Union also coordinated with its affiliated units to organize voluntary blood donation events such as the "Red Sunday" Program in 2022, receiving 1,090 units of blood, and also provided blood to Hue Central Hospital 3 times with 1,451 units of blood...
Donating blood to save lives is a noble act, with profound humanity. The ceremony to honor and reward outstanding voluntary blood donors is an annual activity to honor and reward individuals, families and groups with outstanding achievements in propaganda, mobilization and participation in voluntary blood donation in the city.
