Da Nang: GRDP in the first quarter ranked 4th in the country

According to the Da Nang City Statistics Office, the city's economy in the first quarter of 2025 continued to have many positive highlights and achieved many outstanding results. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 11.36% over the same period in 2024.

Da Nang's GRDP growth rate ranks first among provinces and cities in the Central Key Economic Zone and the block of centrally-run cities, and ranks 4th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Of which, compared to the same period in 2024, the construction industry sector increased by 17.60%; the service sector increased by 10.07%; the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 2.61%; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 10.82%.

In the first quarter, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments was estimated at 2,537,800, up 19.2% over the same period. Of which, international guests were estimated at 1,268,300, up 42.1%; domestic guests were 1,269,500, up 2.7% over the same period.

Total state budget revenue in the area as of March 25, 2025 is estimated to reach VND 8,290 billion, an increase of 31.0% over the same period in 2024.

In the first quarter of 2025, the City focused on directing the implementation of the 2025 Theme. Socio-economic activities were basically maintained stably, social security was ensured. The results achieved in the first quarter are favorable conditions for the City's economy to aim for a growth target of over 10% for the whole year of 2025 in the spirit of Resolution No. 25 of the Government.

According to the Da Nang City Statistics Office, however, in the context of the global economic panorama containing many different colors among economies and uncertain global growth prospects; therefore, the City needs to promote its existing internal resources to achieve the set goals in 2025.

Previously, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that the city proactively implemented key tasks and solutions to focus all resources on simultaneously implementing solutions to develop industries and fields to promote growth in 2025.

Specifically, focus on removing difficulties and obstacles of projects and enterprises according to Conclusion No. 77-KL/TW dated May 2, 2024 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 170/2024/QH15 dated November 30, 2025 of the National Assembly, creating conditions for projects to be implemented early in the year, increasing the amount of investment capital for social development in the area.

Developing new tourism products and services contributes to continuing to affirm the tourism brand of Da Nang city on the national and international tourism map. Strive for the number of guests served by accommodation establishments to reach about 12 million, an increase of 9.5-10% compared to 2024. At the same time, support and create conditions for businesses to invest in new, high-quality tourism products such as: Asia Park Complex; Da Nang International Fireworks Complex; River of Light project, Phan Dang Luu Avenue, etc.

Invest in putting into operation 3 new industrial parks with a scale of about 745 hectares and 2 industrial clusters (Cam Le and Hoa Lien) with a scale of about 90 hectares. Effectively attract enterprises and large projects with high spillover effects into industrial parks and industrial clusters.

Proactively build and deploy innovation and creativity spaces, attract investment in the fields of microchips, semiconductors, artificial intelligence... Effectively operate Software Park No. 2, including labs for microchip and AI training; Da Nang Data Center. Focus resources on completing infrastructure, developing human resources and appropriate incentive policies to attract strategic and leading investors in the international microchip field.

Actively coordinate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to study and shorten the procedures for selecting investors for Lien Chieu Port, striving to start construction of the project in 2025 according to the conclusion of the Prime Minister in Notice No. 49/TB-VP dated February 18, 2025. This will also be a growth driver for the whole country and Da Nang city.

The city also builds special and outstanding mechanisms and policies for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and the Regional Financial Center in Da Nang City. Prepare the Project for the Free Trade Zone and the Regional Financial Center, promptly complete it, and report to the Prime Minister so that the Government can submit it to the National Assembly at the 9th Session (May 2025)...
