(PLVN) - On December 18, the People's Committee of Da Lat City (Lam Dong Province) coordinated with Tuoi Tre Newspaper to organize a workshop "Da Lat develops green tourism and cultural industry from diverse natural resources and local culture".
The workshop was attended by more than 30 scientists, researchers, and managers in the fields of tourism, economics, culture, history, environment, architecture, etc.; departments, branches, and local businesses.
According to Mr. Dang Quang Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Da Lat City: The new values of green tourism development and cultural industry have been studied by many international organizations. In particular, developing the cultural industry helps restructure the growth model, create highly competitive cultural products and services, create more new jobs, and make positive contributions to the economy. Developing green tourism helps minimize environmental impacts, positively contribute to biodiversity protection, use renewable energy, promote natural and cultural heritage, and develop environmentally friendly tourism products. These values have been increasingly approached and developed by the tourism community.

Mr. Tu hopes that the workshop will provide initiatives and solutions to build Da Lat into a typical model of green growth and sustainable development through tourism and service development in harmony with the preservation and promotion of local ethnic cultural identity. Build Da Lat into a modern tourism and service city, a smart urban area, a regional center of culture, arts, sports and entertainment; contribute to Lam Dong province, the key economic region of the South Central Coast and the whole country to best and most effectively promote the inherent tourism potential and values. Continue to make continuous efforts to implement the commitments of the UNESCO Creative City of Music roadmap to 2027, contributing to the strong development of the local cultural industry.

Da Lat City is a young city formed in the late 19th century with more than 130 years of age but has many historical and cultural works, unique architecture, and a "Gentle - Elegant - Hospitable" style of behavior. As the only Flower Festival city in Vietnam, Da Lat is also a famous domestic and international tourist center and is in the process of building a smart city and a heritage city.
Da Lat was recognized twice as an “ASEAN Clean Tourist City” in 2020 and 2022, joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music on October 31, 2023. This place is considered a particularly favorable space for preserving indigenous cultural values in the Southern Central Highlands, a cradle for the development of contemporary creative values, an attractive musical rendezvous of national and international stature.
